So who do we play on GF day?
Norths Devils, one of the Dolphins feeders. Tesi Niu and Jacob Gagan

This is their grand final team:

They have had a week off, always cheating the Qlders!

If this is what Ison is delivering most weeks then he is still a way off challenging Kennedy.
Yeah he has a blunder or two in him, still thought he was outstanding.

Kennedy won man of the match in 2019 grand final at age 22, he was in first grade in 2020, but still took a couple of years to settle in. Ison only 19.

“Kennedy finished with a mammoth 245m, three line-breaks, one try-assist, seven tackle-breaks, and one match-winning try in a stunning Man of the Match display.”

I was only able to catch the last 20 mins unfortunately which is when he made a few blunders.

Must’ve done well in the first 60 then, what was it you liked ?

He was really safe with kicks in the first half. With the bomb he dropped at the end, he took another one like that in epic fashion in the first half.

Overall though he’s just so dangerous in attack and kick returns. You’d have to commit 1.5 players to defend him. Faa’logo you probably almost need two defenders, but Ison not that far off

Some good defence in there as well, there was one set I counted two try savers at opposite ends of the field.

Again though I was watching live, so not with a microscope

Thanks mate! Good to hear.

He’s only 19, so we have plenty of time for him to keep improving in NSW cup. A competition win and an NRL debut, what a season for him!

Yeah I can’t predict the future, he will still have challenges being a smaller fullback. And also I don’t know if he has the untapped well of potential that some players do, as he is already giving absolutely everything. But will enjoy it for now!

That in itself is a great sign though. At least we know he will make the most of his potential. So many other players who have all the ability but not the work ethic/attitude required to make it.

Stonestreets blow up towards the end was epic
BHU had to go calm him down

Video of NSW Cup hasn't been uploaded to site yet, but he's the link to the NSWRL site. Should be up soon or rewatch it on 9now.
Its not anywhere. Not youtube, nrl site, nsw cup site. Poor form by the media guys.

The whole finals scheduling has been a comedy. From the final next to swannies game, to the nrlw final scheduled at the same time as the nsw cup final, to now not even a highlights reel posted anywhere. Fkn hard game to grow with all this.

I went back and watched the 2019 highlights of the state championship recently and forgot how bloody stacked that team was when you look at it from todays perspective.

Half the current Sharks starting lineup was playing that day in Kennedy, Trindall, Wilton, B.Brailey, Mulitalo and Katoa.

Even had some old heads in Bukuya and Greg Eastwood playing.

Yeah it’s good to be passionate and demanding, and it was a terrible pass, but I’m still not a big fan of it on a regular basis. It was almost like he was complaining before he tried to catch it
