What goals do you think sharks need to acheive next season? I think a top 4 finish is one. I think making the club have a winning culture is another. Also seeing some younger players make their mark in 1st grade.

I would like to see our halves get it together, be it Noddy and Dykes or another combination.

I would like our Sharkies to be a team to be feared again, especially at home.

If we do lose a game, we only lose by the narrowest of margins.

Finish in top 4 - Dutchie1983, I think top 8 is still just average.

Well we pretty much did that last year.. wel this year... you know what i mean

we only had a few blow outs. The tigers game was pretty much it. most of the we lost by 2/4/6 points.

But yes i would love to see the sharks become a feared team again. also have the halfs working perfect (what ever combo it is) i just want us to be able to get all excited when we are 10 from the line. because second half of the season i just knew ****all was gonna happen at the line. it was sad really =(

Jigsaw, what I mean is - some of the games we were behind by 2, with maybe 10 mins to go, and we let in a try or 2. I know it's all about defense, but the boys seem to play for only 70 mins not the full 80.

Maybe I should have said, - defend 'til the end!

Well obviously the no.1 goal should be to win the comp, sure it will be tough but given the personnel we have at this club it is nevertheless achievable. I think if you were to ask Ricky, given the success he expects as a matter of course, anything short of a top eight finish would be regarded as unacceptable, and a top four finish should be well within our reach.

i wanna c the boys go at least to the semis....i dont think a grand final appearance would be outta the question but i probably couldnt stand seeing us beaten in the final so maybe i dont want it but definant finals for me

Lol, I would rather be disappointed by a GF loss, than a loss in the semis!

well my aim for this season is, top 8, and once their would like to get into top 4, that would do me as a building process. once in top 4 would like to aim for g/f apperance, even if we did make g/f and lost that would be a great building block for next season. and aim to be lingering around the top 2 for a g/f win, you cant win a g/f with a new team, when ricky won his g/f that team was together for several seasons building up to that g/f win. lets not hope for a g/f win this year lets work our way up. and anything in the top eight is a bonus from that last years effort.and then you never know wot mite happen

you got to go into the season thinking you can win the comp but one thing i would like to see is toyota park become a fortress again bring back the days were a win at home was almost a certanity and we should have a great year

I agree with most of my fellow contributors that we must make Shark Park a fortress where other sides will fear to play at. Even top rated sides like the Broncos, Storm and Bulldogs. I reckon the comp will be pretty even next year and there will be no easy games. That is why it is crucial to win at home. If you win all your home games it is a guaranteed 24 points which only puts you a few points away from making the 8. It's a big head start!

I think we can make the top 4, no one will give us a chance of doing it though, they will all be after the favourites again. My god, even the Titans are quoted at better odds to win the comp than us! Everyone will remember that we lost 10 in a row to finish the season and the media will say that this will be a huge mental scar to overcome.

But, if we are positive, we can do it! I agree with Megashark that our goal must be to win the comp!

I think realistically our target should be make week 2 of the semis, that is acheivable and realistic, after that anything else should be a bonus.

Our errors and penalty rates to be at least halved. The last few years we have become one of the most ill disciplined teams, penalties, drop balls & missed tackles.

As with everyone above me, Shark Park back to what it was years ago where Saturday night games were feared by opponents and it was almost guaranteed 2 points for us when those games were on.

Blood some young players too in NRL so our future looks strong and keeps them interested in staying with our great club.

I think our goal should be to win.

Anything less than that, and we are going in with our expectations set too low (close enough is good enough), and after 21 years of being a sharkies fan, I just want to win.

This year with the help of Ricky, would like to see the sharks in the top four.I would like to see the half back and 5/8 combination work well and make good use of the back line, not this one up crap we have seen in the past.

Absolutely. You only win if you believe you can win. What's the point of just making week one or two of the semis, what a wasted season. If you get that far surely you should be good enough to take the next step. We can't die wondering, like we have for the past 40 years.

i dont want to set my expectations to high this year. in previous seasons i have always felt we have had a chance but have succumbed to crushing disappointments. so, instead of picking a position i would like us to finish in, i will hope that our goal is consistency. in season 2006 there was no better feeling then when we were on that winning run and we had everything going our way. but we tasted both ends of the spectrum within the time of one season. consistent sides do not do this. i know our teams capabilities and every sharks supporter is the same, its not that we are hopeless every year, its that we dont fulfil our potential that hurts the most. after i saw what we were capable of in 2006 it hurt when we came nowhere near. so 2007, a year of consistency.
