Was thinking about some comments and threads on here re comments in the media about sharks future.
What we need is a co-ordinated fight back, much like the effort for supporting the development which reached a wider audience than just this site.
There is no point ringing a radio station or commenting on websites arguing what has been said, this is what they want and feeds the beast.
All public responses should stop IMO other than by the club formally.
We should be targeting the heart of these programs and organisations, THE SPONSORS.
Every time some goose makes an ill-informed comment about why the sharks should die, then there is a barrage of FACTUAL reasons countering the comment sent to the sponsors of the show.
this could be in a pre-worded email or word document with an "insert name of company here"
contained with the facts should be a statement that their product will no longer be supported by the fans of cronulla and the fans will actively comment online about their product in a way similar to the people they support have commented about cronulla, unless the comments are corrected publicly.
facts can contain tangibles such as junior numbers, increase in sponsorship / revenue money, decreased debt, long term viability, infiltration of AFL in the shire etc + intangibles such as 'community suffering with a lack of identity' & 'children have no local hero's' etc
