Sharks seem to be taking an interests in the biggest wingers last couple of years.Looking for wingers who are good in the air and are like extra forwards.
Zac Rasmussen has been playing well in the NYC - 6ft 5 - 100kg which is absolutely huge
Jordan Tencate in the NYC and NSW cup is also a big boy 6ft 2 and 100kg
Finlay Diblay in the SG Ball another big boy 6ft 3 looks about 90kg
What the hell are they feeding them.

Was thinking of Nesiasi Mataitonga

Pick of the bunch from the guys listed in this thread.

Has played fullback for the most part of his career up until now as Pickerd has the NYC FB spot locked up. Has a great fend, can take a high ball and has unbelievable acceleration. He's pretty slender but plays above his weight. Safe to say I've got wood for him.

He looks like he'll fill out too.

I think he has big potential.

It's part of the reason I want Gordon, by the time he retires these guys will be hitting their straps.

Yeah good point on Gordon.

We definitely need a winger that is already in their prime or just exiting. As this thread suggests we have a bunch of young wing talent and surely one of them will be the goods.

Rasmussen and Nesi are my picks.

Yep, it's time to stop building and start recruiting to try and win the premiership in the next 4 years.

During that time the young guys will either step up or ship out and we fill gaps accordingly.

And the thing is... every single one of them is a sharks junior, not from out of the area.

Interesting story on finlay dibley, I played with him in his very first year of footy, it was the 12 A's and he instantly came in and was close to the best player in the comp in only his first year. Dropped away abit from then but has picked up again now.

Pretty impressive to only start in the 12's and be so good atm.

Are many of the kids of African origin playing in the juniors?

They seem to have taken to the AFL down here in Melbourne, reckon there's quite a few future stars on their way

Na, you don't see too many africans in the shire league.

Plenty of islanders like everywhere. Cronulla caringbah have produced lichaa, raru and nesi the same cronulla caringbah age group. Shows why they were unbeatable.
Aquinas have a few lebanese etc the rest of the clubs are a big mixture of aussies and islanders.

Maybe our junior coaches should be doing a few workshops in that case, couldn't hurt having an Ellery Hanley on each wing and one at fullback for good measure

Yeh i agree nesi is a great player but i didn't mention him because he is a fullback, the boys i mentioned are specialist wingers.

well finlay was playing lock last season so he isn't really a specialist winger. Has been a masterstroke by the looks of it though.

Dave Howlett must be doing something right he did the same with tencate last year from forwards to wing. Finlay is the leading tryscorer this year by the looks of it I counted at least 8

nesi injured don't know when he is back, rasmussen back in a couple of weeks , tencate had a good game in the nyc win good defence and strong ball running what a game that was too watch!!! rea pitman played well also scoring a double. Finlay played well in the sg ball handled one of the best centres in the comp tyrone phillips with ease infact man handled him on one occasion dragging him out the sideline and scored a good try taking his tally to 8.
