We know that we have one of the best, most passionate supporter groups in the NRL and we want to hear from you.

We also know that we have one of, if not the most recognisable team song in the League.

However, we want to go one better in 2016 and have our fans create their own 'Sharks Anthem' to run along side our famed 'Up Up Cronulla'!

As we have a wide ranging talent pool of supporters we know you have the ability to create a passionate, meaningful supporters anthem to be used on game day to really show the NRL just how much our supporters love our team.

So, this Christmas New Year period, get together with your family and friends and pen your own anthem for our 2016 game day at Shark Park.

Comment below with your idea and we'll be in touch with the best results on Monday, January 4!

Merry Christmas to all of our Sharks Members and fans and we'll see you in the New Year

Up Up Cronulla

Comment either here or FB, will push it over to the club for you guys.

Basically they need something to get the crowd pumping before the team comes on the field and the club is coming to us to create one. Whats the harm in giving it a go ;)

"We Are Sharks" - to the tune of "We Are Australian"...you know it makes sense.

"We are Sharks,
We are Cronulla,
And from all around The Shire we come,
We share a dream,
And sing with one voice,
I am, we are, CRONULLA SUTHERLAND!"

done.

From all around the Shire may be an issue as many travel from outside the Shire.

Yuck.

Just play the reggies finishing 10 minutes before firsts. No need for sugary songs.

Ffs just play a pump up rock song or don't do anything.

It's cheesy and cheap and I'm sorry but it won't work.

If the team is playing well that'll be enough to get the team pumped up when they run out.

I'm not going to bite about the lyrics but I refuse to sing that song.

Yep can only echo the same sentiments. There is no supporter written song that will get those effects without just being cringe worthy. Like others above said, a good rock song or the jaws theme is all we need pre run out.

Or alternative lyrics...

The time is right
To get on the field.
Cro-null-a Sharks they’re
the team for me.
The Sharks, The Sharks
Here comes The Sharks!

Up the middle or
Backs running free
Black,White and blue
it sure does it for me
The Sharks, The Sharks
Here comes The Sharks!

Ooh, are you ready guys?
Ooh, are you ready girls?
Ooh, yeah
Here come the Sharks
Gonna play it smart
Ooh, yeah, baby
Ooh, yeah
Here come the Sharks
And we never stop
Ooh, yeah, baby

This sort of thing is wayyyyy too cheesy and will do more harm than good. Up up cronulla is the only song that needs singing strictly after a win. No one wants to sing before a game, people are there to watch the football and unwind. They don't want the annoyance of a school sports carnival type atmosphere with lame songs and cheer alongs. I understand the thought behind it RE engagement but it will be a cringeworthy flop.

I live in Brisbane and went to the BBL cricket recently and they are doing some stuff to engage the crowd there like this and it's having the complete opposite effect to whats desired with people laughing out loud and saying can't we just be left in peace to focus on the game rather than watch some dance crew battle or juggle or some rubbish

IMO, if we must have a song it should be something the whole crowd can sing before the game with a minimum ammount of music. Most importantly it must come from the fans, and not the club. Most of us will rebel against something artificial forced upon us.
