Hmm. Just got an email thanking me for "opting to roll my membership" for 2016 despite me doing no such thing..

What is this, a pyramid selling scheme ?

I got it too and rang the club to ask what was going on. Nathan in membership said because I did a part payment for this year's membership they automatically make me "opt in" whatever the **** that means.

No membership problems huh? Didn't take long.

If it's the email I'm thinking of (which I can't find) If you read down further it says another email will be sent out that you have to confirm if you want to opt in to renew

Tbh i didn't even read it, the wife just read out the first part. After reading it in full (skim reading anyway) i must say it's quite a strange way they've done the email.

agreed. I feel in the same trap. I was seething when I first read it. It's a very misleading email. Typical sharks though

Happened to be looking in my junk email file by chance today. Saw an email from the Sharks addressed to my 4 year old daughter, I guess all year the email has gone straight to junk my mistake. By read the top about the fact her membership was going to roll over. As I was at work I didn't have a chance to read the whole thing and will now, but I was pretty cheesed off about it, firstly because I could've missed the whole thing as it was in junk, secondly because I want different membership for her in 2016 but thirdly I feel conned.

It might be smart marketing, but it's sneaky and the Sharks needed be careful on this one or they are going to upset a lot of fans.

I received the same email... However, I did opt in earlier this week. Was there a box to tick for this years membership, to roll over at the end of this year??
I also received a txt to tell me the 2016 memberships were on sale.

The clubs opted for the used car salesman approach to selling memberships this season. Will we get a full tank of fuel after we sign up ?

Renewed my Family Membership in the CSSC. Bloody good value, $700!

This new Members Rewards program is going to be a cracker, so many savings across a massive range of goods and service. The cheap movie tickets are excellent for my family, we go to the movies ALOT!
