This is 100% correct. Add that you are so saving months off the construction program (which also translates to $$)

Thanks!

So the big question remains.

Are we back there in 2022?
They keep leaving an out in all of their messaging. I think it will prove too difficult. From Dino’s CEO address the other day:

“Also in an update on our return to PointsBet, we are working diligently to try and get the ground up to speed and compliant with NRL requirements as we look to host games again in 2022. We won’t bring you back to PointsBet unless we can offer an enjoyable game day experience while ensuring the stadium is comfortable and safe for all patrons. That work will continue as we look to bring you and the team ‘home’ next year.”

Agree, can't see it happening.

I do honestly think they just can't make that call at the moment.

It might be a situation where we get back to Shark Park mid way through the year for example. Or the Peter Burns stand side is off limits.

If I was a betting man I probably wouldn't bet on us being there Rd 1.

The direct interface between the ground and the construction site is the area under the Peter Burns stand (bar area, food stall, toilets).

All other parts of the ground are unaffected.

It may come down the whether it is viable for the club to open the ground with restricted facilities (if area under PB stand closed) - and whether this meets NRL standards. This is worst case if that area is not finished by the start of next year.

I'm sure they will work with NRL and come to some arrangement with the draw if not ready (eg play the first month or so away then have a stack of home games in second part of draw). This has been done before with other clubs.

Not sure they have enough space to cover for corporates if the PB stand is unavailable.

At the AGM they said capacity will be only 10,000 - 12,000 if we do make it back in 2022.

They also said the 3 main challenges were parking requirements, broadcast requirements and safety/evacuation. If we fail to meet all of those, we won't be back.

Okay so sounds like the Peter Burns stand end being partially off limits will happen regardless. Which I suppose is good as they're just trying to get the stadium NRL compliant as opposed to completely ready, which is probably more likely.

And let's face it 10-12,000 is more than we're getting at Kogarah

Yeah hopefully a good reward for members who stuck with their memberships the past couple of years at least.

The DA seeks consent "for use of the club deck from 8am to midnight, seven days per week, on a trial basis and to permit amplified music on the deck to occur until 10pm with no restriction on the type of music permitted (i.e. including live bands)".

"It is important to note that the club has been operating from the site for nearly 50 years, and is intended to play a central activating and community-building role within the future Woolooware Bay Town Centre, and this ongoing role has been reflected in communications to and contractual relationships with future residents," the DA said.

Some slight changes with residents now living close by. Don't know if any apartments are close to the deck though?

Feels a little silly for the pool to be placed north west side of deck ( playing field side ) .
Wouldn't putting it the North East side make more sense and create a tabled reserve seating area to watch the game there instead , tabled area , for some additional income ?
Then again if Chad feels the Western sun is best for his pool , who am I to argue .

It was good thinking putting in those clauses in the apartment sales contracts in regards to the noise/lighting etc. I imagine legally they might be difficult to actually enforce, but better to at least try.

Not sure about the pool.... I am thinking it would be pretty expensive to build and maintain on an upper floor like that, with the potential for leaks and need for structural support.

Guessing though that they see enough revenue from top-end sponsors on game day, or from an Ivy pool type situation. Doubt most of us commoners will set foot in it regularly :)

If that means blokes in the pool, shoulder to shoulder, drinking mid-strength beer for three hours, there's no way I'm dipping a toe in that toilet anyway!
