Buz Report

Sharks on the move .
The Cronulla Sharks will shut down their Leagues Club and move all home games away from Shark Park for two years to allow builders to complete the final stage of their Woolooware redevelopment in January.

Ten “home” games will be played at Kogarah Oval and another two in Darwin and on the Sunshine Coast in 2020 and 2021 before the club can return to its traditional home.

The closure of the Leagues Club is a huge short-term blow to finances.

It will cost at least $3 million from poker machine profits but officials believe the long-term gains from a new licensed club in 2022 far outweigh the losses over two years.

This blows my mind. I'm not a builder (far from it) but I can't believe closing the ground for two years was even a left field option, let alone the best option. Is this something that was agreed to at the beginning, or do the construction company have us over a barrel?

The whole redevelopment stinks. Seems like every week we're agreeing to get less back from it. And now two years at Kogarah. They're worried about pokies losses, but if memberships and membership revenue don't halve I'll be very surprised.

We're lucky the Titans are looking shaky right now...

Really don't understand going to Darwin which is essentially AFL. Why not take the games to Fiji or Port Macquarie?

Could have had NRL sort draw and played one game in Tonga . Maybe Cowboys game . Would have drawn crowd . Expand the game , Sell the Sharks brand , new supporters , special affordable merchandising. eg Fifita , Taumalolo

Shark and opponents play in Oz Thur/Friday against other teams . Fly over Sunday . Promo's all week. Play Saturday or Sunday, back home for Sunday games each the week after .WIN /WIN /WIN.
No , we choose Darwin

Might need big screens outside of ground too

Teufaiva Sport Stadium
Teufaiva Sport Stadium which was previously known as Tenefaira Field Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Nukuʻalofa, Tonga. It is used mostly for rugby union, football and rugby league and the Ikale Tahi team matches. The stadium holds 10,000 people. It is the home ground of the Tonga national football team.

I think it was 12500 plus. I can tell you up here it was pumped on media massively. If we pump it right, we could get more members out of it. This area doesn’t have big games and when they come they get packed out. Ppl come out of the wood works

I know it has been touched on previously.

But in summary , what improvements to the ground are we getting out of this ?
