cronulla seemingly have a selection dilema for the weekends game against the titans. this dilema comes suprisingly in the backs. after the panthers game, Brett Kearney fully deserves another game at fullback......which leaves David Simmons out in the cold for now. from all reports, SImmons played well in premier league, so i have to beleive he'll fit in this week somewhere. personally, i think Simmons will play wing in place of Fraser Anderson, with Simmons and Kearny altering occassionaly in attack and defense. Is Simmons on the wing right? or should he play premier league again?

whats ur vote guys?

I really think he should play at least two more games in Premier League,
We really need to make sure that he is not going injure himself again and I don't think he needs the pressure yet.

Let him run free in premier league and get some match time under his belt then bring him back maybe on the wing, he will be stronger for it.

hrm well i didnt see much of Anderson on the weekend and i want to see what he can do. so give him another week or 2 on the wing. and if still nothing give that wing spot to Simmons. Leave Kearney at fullback all the time

a lot of good points raised by everyone.
id like to see simmo back if hes playing well enough.
as well as kearney played,he needs to be closer to the ruck (halves/hooker)where his long term value lies.
still it's early days and im sure we'll see a few different lineups in the future to compare and contrast.
go the sharks

Bronzy and Capital said Simmo had a poor game in prems. Personally I agree with Jimmy, if it ain't broke don't fix it - for the same reason I would be in no hurry to rush Gallen back either before fully fit.

if simmons gets a go, it can't be at the expense of kearney. furthermore, i would want to see him show some willingness to put his body on the line on kick returns (be it from fullback or the wing), i.e. running it back hard, fast and often. another week in pl won't hurt him in that respect.

Also to note is that Brown will be fit in a weeks time also.

I'm happy to leave them in prems for pressure, however I also think that kearney should be moved to Hooker when the time comes. He wasn't really pressured defensivley (only making one tackle) and each high ball that came his way there were no chasers coming through.

After watching they way the Dragons peppered Preston, you just know that's coming for Kearney and I don't believe he is tall enought nor have a high enough jump to contest the ball.

Someone who is in trouble is Kingston. De Gois looked much more inventive in the position and as I said Kearney would also make a good hooker.

Kingstons defence was awesome though. I never realised how often he is there when it counts. he pulled off some great shut down tackles.

Did anyone else see the premier league game? Simmo was shocking to say the least. He missed tackles, let a bomb hit the deck and they scored, ran like he was scared and generally looked like he didn't want to be out there. I'm sure he will be back but i can assure everyone he won't be back against the Titans. I reckon he needs 2-3 weeks to regain some confidence and form and unless we start loosing i can't see where he will fit in.

I can't see Kearney going to hooker. He doesn't have the build for it and i think he would be much better suited at 5/8 or fullback. He isn't as short as i thought he was after seeing him on Sat night. He's a lot taller than Preston and i think under pressure from chasers he would be fine.

I thought that both Kinga and de Gois were great on Saturday night. Like others on here I have been a bit critical of Kinga's lack of creativity but I thought he was really sharp around the ruck area and out of dummy half, and the fact that he has obviously been working hard on his kicking game is another plus. Also as has already been mentioned his defence is superb, he is as tough as they come. De Gois really sparked when he came on as well, he doesn't lack anything as far as creativity goes and he also made some good metres out of dummy half. All things considered, I think we're very lucky to have two hookers of this quality in our squad, they should provide plenty of competition for each other throughout the season and give Ricky some interesting selection headaches.

o reckon kingas overated to be honest, its good to have de gois here to keep pressure on the bloke. De gois actually had a solid game and gave us another element in attack when he was on
