Rugby league gets its own reality TV show

Filming has reportedly begun on a rugby league reality TV show called ‘NRL Dream’.

Auditions for the show will be held across Australia and in Papua New Guinea for the 14-part series, where players aged 17 to 25 will be given a chance to win their way into first grade.

The winner will receive a $100,000 contract with either the Dragons, Roosters, Cowboys, Knights or Titans.

NRL coaches Wayne Bennett, Brian Smith, Neil Henry and John Cartwright will be involved in helping to judge the contestants in elimination episodes, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Other rugby league big names Wendell Sailor, Ben Ikin, Paul Harragon and Gorden Tallis will also be involved in the program, which will give contestants challenges such as fighting Anthony Mundine and abseiling down the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Fox Sports will broadcast the program, which was devised by a pair of Newcastle lawyers, Rob Faraday-Bensley and Andrew Harrison, along with Ikin.

"We are passionate about the game and we see this as an opportunity for the game and its players to be portrayed in the correct light," Faraday-Bensley told the Telegraph.

"Right now, the game needs some good stories. We believe this is what the show will deliver."

i would try out but too old, and why are the sharks not involved we would get some much needed good publicity plus maybe get a cheap talented player
