Having Tupou and Ryan both play this week would make a massive difference IMO. I know there is a lot of call for Ayshford to be dumped but IMO the bigger problem on that side defensively has been the players inside.

regardless of who plays centre ..

Tupou-Carney-xxx-Ryan is a much better defensive look that Sapuonga/Prior-Carney-xxx-Stapelton

The Carney defensive side is the only relevant thing to team selection IMO. Opposition teams are basically just beating us by exploiting that side. Stop that leak and our results will change profoundly. Even last weekend the other side did fine really.

Basically load up on the chooks left side attack for first try scorer and you're in the dough.

This is why Luke Lewis probably our biggest loss at the moment. Isn't he Carney's bodyguard in defence? Like Lockyer/Carroll? If not, he should be.

Carney can use all 12 other sharks as body guards but as soon as we defend on our line he cant be protected he needs to learn how to ****en tackle!!!
Cant be our star player and not know how to tackle

Carrol use to protect lockyer just so he was fresh on attack he was half decent at makin a tackle when needed but as for carney dont think ive evwr seen him make a tackle except against chad two weeks ago.there is no way on earth carney will see origin again

carney's biggest defensive problem is he goes to high, he needs to hit the legs and have a big boppa hit high.

we could put him to fullback when on the defenesive line, but again, that would involve Peter Sharp using his brain

Cant hide him! he is a 5/8 and needs to learn how to tackle low. The guy us just **** in defense and needs a kick up the backside, he obviously knows he cant be replaced

yes you can, the broncos did exactly what i was just talking about, on their line karmichael hunt went to 5/8 and lcky went to fullback

todd has played fullback, so it is a chance we could take

Finally found a thread where the real problem is being talked about, about time.

it is a fix but **** me 750k and cant make a tackle is a bad investment.I dont get how since kids play u7's theyre taught to tacklw legs especially if you are smaller than the opposition but Carney cant?

Well Holmes was named in squad for 20s so most likely we will run with same team as always ..

i dont think feki will be in the centres. Him and leutele are both left centres. So is johno wright. Leutele has played a couple of games on the right in 2012 so they might put him there

I'm going to have a stab, and say they will probably copy and paste the same 17 and make changes on game day..

Bring Mexico or D Fifita in for Vave
Jono Wright for Ayshford
Window Lichaa's son for DeGois I think may be forced?

Can't think of anything else that will help in the way of personnel, don't agree with chucking u20's players in, will be a confidence killer.

Just need Gal, Toops and Lewis back from injury.

Lets break it down nice and simple - Todd will never improve his defence. It will not happen. So you need to make sure the two blokes on either side can cover him.

Its not the first time in history there has been a nuffy in defence that needs to be carried.
