I'd make one change this week. Collis in for Aiton.

3. Collis
14. Pomeroy

Aiton --> NSW Cup

JMo plays 80 minutes. Pomeroy off the bench in the back row. Not saying that it's Pomeroy's fault we lost, but having an extra back rower would provide more value than what we are getting out of Aiton. In a few weeks Bukuya can compete for this spot too.

We don't need two bench backrowers. What happens if Morris is injured midway through a game? I know Gal has a dummy-half and kicking game going for him, but I can't see him slotting into hooker. Aiton's a valuable bench player for us - just because he hasn't had the greatest start to the season doesn't mean he should be dropped.

A bit of a random idea -
C.Towsend Sharks nyc captain no.7.
Of the bench to come on as replacement hooker for Morris,
what ive seen of him his strong can kick from dummy half, a good way to blood a
future Sharks first grader?

Also I agree on your post about Aiton. Despite the fact that I'm not wanting Morris to come from the field at the moment.

I don't think this is a good idea for the following reasons:
a) I'm not sure that Chad's defence is good enough.
b) He is a halfback and we need to continue breading him here rather then blooding him at hooker.
c) If we are going to have a hooker on the bench is has to be Aiton he is head and shoulders above everyone bar Morris in this position.
d) Chad's running game has been critized in the past and fairly so, I don't think he has the running game required to play hooker.
e) he isn't naturally a hooker so is a risk playing him there.

Can't wait for this game. We need to get back on track this week and give it to Manly. We should be able to win this one. I don't there there is any need to make changes. Just don't let forwards stand in the back line when we have a scrum.

So Aiton is on the bench just in case JMo gets injured? Aiton played 20 minutes yesterday, threw two foward passes inside our own 30 and missed the tackle on Mateo leading to the fourth try. If we're carrying a guy in case of injury we should carry a guy who can play somewhere other than hooker - there was no need to replace Morris yesterday other than to give Aiton a run.

... and I'm still wondering what on earth Dean Collis has done to have everyone here turn on him. FFS he was one of our best players last year and yeah, he has a poor first game, but apart from Douglas, Morris, Williams and Kelly everyone in that game was awful.

I am not sure why Ation is getting such little game time. He may have had a bad game yesterday but he seems to be getting less minutes each week. Like any player they need more time on the field. He offers something different to Morris and I would be keen to see more of him.

Yeah - IMHO travelling reserve should be a young bloke - if TT and Collis are fit they should be getting game time in NSW Cup.

What a class act. Thank goodness we're not getting that sort of rubbish anymore.
