Cronulla Sharks Vs Mounties
Toyota Stadium, Saturday, March 24
Kick-off: 3.00pm
Referee: Steve Lyons
Summary: Cronulla will be seething after they were dominated by the Jets last weekend at Toyota Stadium. Coach Tony Herman would not have been happy with his sides attacking performance, after all, they could only muster a solitary try to Blake Sorensen. In a team which has names like Townsend, Wright, Feki, Leutele, Chambers and Waqa, four points simply won’t cut it in season 2012. Mounties back-rower Joe Picker and winger Dimitri Pelo have been rewarded for good early form with elevations to the Raiders NRL squad. Jarrad Kennedy has also been pulled up as their 18th man for the Raiders Monday night match against the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown. The elevations mean Steve Ghosn has had to rebuild his forward pack with Matt McIllwrick moving to hooker and Masada Iosefa shifting to the back-row. Storm hooker Rory Kostjaysn is not expected to make the trip up this weekend due to NRL duties which means Herman may have to use Tyrone Peachey at hooker.Talking Point: Blood in the water – Similar to their name sakes, the Sharks will be smelling blood in the water this Saturday after a dismal performance last weekend against the Jets. The Sharks are one of the early season favourites for the 2012 VB NSW Cup and while one loss is certainly not cause to hit the panic button, a second consecutive loss at home will not be a desired result.
Prediction: Sharks should bounce back at home. Sharks by 8.
