Nah mate. I just learned from an early age that boozing up all night, getting ****faced and feeling like **** or throwing up the next day just wasn't cool. You'll understand when you get to my age.

Seriously, saw my old man pickle himself for many years and didn't want to follow suit. Had a mate seriously ill from alcoholic poisoning as well.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a beer or two once in a while.

Sorry SB, lecture over.:)

Widdop relishes first derby experience
NRL.COM
Gareth Widdop has played in front of more than 80,000 people in an NRL grand final, represented his country and turned out in a World Club Challenge decider but says his first true local derby experience is one he won't forget in a hurry. Having started his career in Melbourne, where the ... "They definitely [gave them a lift] when the Sharks gained a bit of momentum there, they were coming home strong but we defended OK and managed to hold them out." Anyone who hails from Sydney's southern suburbs will tell ...

Got to give Widdop and Creagh some credit for talking up the local derby.

I remember a few years back the Dragons would try to shrug it off as just another game.

Rivalries like Sharks-Dragons and Sharks-Manly can't be easily replaced by the NRL.

Oh dear. So your telling me that Melbourne sending a few nsw cup players a week is making our ball, Flegg and 20s team part of the storms juniors?

Really? I hope your joking

You're right. My bad. It was way to big a leap to expect you to make... I mean, that the Sharks' first grade feeder side has less spots available for local juniors because there are spots taken by Storm players, and to logically figure that it might affect the number of juniors coming through to the top grade... way too much going on for ya buddy, apologies.

Let me know if you need the Dummies guide to anything other questions on the forum that are vexing you, I'm here for a long time...

You said that made our juniors part of melbournes! They aren't mate. We have ours, they have theirs. Different clubs, different contracts. Simple enough for you?

Maybe you should read that dummies guide yourself before giving advice

Just watched the game on replay. I thought Holdsworth improved a lot in the second half. He certainly looks better with Carney next to him. Some nice kicks, and a nice flat pass to Ayshford standing off Carney that was pretty sweet. It's easy to forget he has only played a few games with this team. Certainly offers more than Robbo in some respects. It will be interesting to see if he gets better over the next few rounds, especially once Fifita is back on deck next week.

I'm not writing him off yet.

Me neither, same with Ayshford. Hard to judge them over three games, especially when we are down on troops. Give them a few more games.
Both are fairly experienced players who haven't stood up whilst we're down on troops. Since they are playing for the club I support I hope they come good but neither has shown much yet.
