I'm in total shock that Channel 9 have picked this game, but happy.

After they brushed us for the Souths game, I thought that would be it until the finals.

I suppose the fact that we are playing a QLD team worked in our favour, as it will rate pretty well in QLD and NSW.

Can't wait!

I'm also surprised.

Great for Sharks and the Leagues and families who want to attend.

I bring this up as it's been mentioned about this being a possible battle for 4th and 5th: Do teams 1 and 2 and 5 and 6 have the home ground for the first week of finals?

Home city final.

There is no such thing as a home final for the Sharks under the current rules unfortunately.

Cowboys, Broncos, Titans, Melbourne, Raiders, Newcastle and the Sydney teams that play out of SFS and ANZ all get home finals.

Manly, Sharks, Dragons, Penrith, Eels do not.

So happy I'm heading down for this game. Channel 9 Sunday afternoon is the worst ****in game to watch on TV

Agree, I suppose it's a great motivator to get people to the ground for game day rather than watch the delayed telecast with Gould and the other idiots. And I hate that stupid alien sound they play every time a try is scored WTF!!!

I'm pretty sure all Sydney games will be at SFS, unless the NRL thinks they can get more then the 46000 capacity, then its moved to ANZ.

So for example (even know it wont happen this year) West Tigers v St George would be at ANZ. Where as Cronulla v Melbourne would be at the SFS.

So say if The Bulldogs had to play Gold Coast, they wouldn't necessarily get to play at their preferred ground. That game wouldn't get over 46000, so it would be at the SFS.

I used to think it was all the Western teams + Souths at ANZ. And all the Eastern teams at the SFS. But I'm sure the way it works is how I've outlined it above.

To prove my point I give this example - Parramatta v Gold Coast in the 2nd week of the 2009 Finals was played where? At the SFS

This has annoyed me all season, and it's even more ridiculous when watching a highlights package.

What positive thing it is meant to signify or add to the telecast is mysterious because all it does is annoys.

Can't see any point in us playing, say warriors at ANZ, but thems the rules.

It was like last year when Manly played I think an out of town team, at the SFS, and they got less people than they would have got at Brookvale because their fans cracked up about it and didn't attend.

The rule was brought in because the Dragons refused to move a blockbuster against the Tigers or something like that.

Surely there's a common sense solution to this. The final we played vs Raiders in 2008 was great, it's annoying thinking that can't happen.

I hate that stupid alien sound they play every time a try is scored WTF!!!

Haha, me too man! WTF is the go with that. Reminds me of the **** sounds on the Biggest Loser etc.

It's also to do with scheduling and availability, other events in the area etc.

You're right MarkB, pretty sure that was Manly vs Cowboys...embarrasingly small crowd, but would we do any better playing an out of town team? I would like to think that our fans would be so excited about being in the semis after a few "rough" seasons, that they would turn up.

Yeah, being from the country and working in the club industry most sundays, some boofhead has always gotta be the headline seeker by telling everyone the score...you can't avoid it.
