Something I noticed today and seems to have crept into the game is teams slowing down the play the ball by holding the man up. The warriors guy with the mad hair did it all day, Fifita got very fired up about it. Refs have clamped down on players wrestling on the ground or holding down the tackled player as a way of slowing the play the ball, but if you wrap a player up in his feet you seem to be allowed to prevent him from bending over yo play the ball for a much longer time.

I've been noticing the same thing the last few weeks mate. I seem to notice it a lot more when you hear the ref call held and you'll see an extra effort to keep the ball player up and out of a position where he can play the ball. It's really starting to bug me, because what's the point in calling held if an obvious extra effort to slow the play the ball is allowed after the call?

Noticed that , browns defence is fairly solid , to be fair robbo pulled off at least 3 try savers today but hooker is his position going forward

Yep and we don't seem to be able to take a trick around the rucks and some really tough calls against us by the refs. For me a tough game to watch, we should have [/B]won today.
So our young guys should have learnt a lot from this game. some crazy silly mistakes but a ton of courage by all of em kept on hanging in Would have been interesting had we have generated more time with the ball.

And it stands out in sharks game because Gallen/Graham/ Fifita and tupou are all able to stay upright and on thier feet in a tackle. Graham spends a lot if time pushing away guys standing in front of him and holding him so he can't play the ball. IMO the tackling player should be making an obvious effort to clear the ruck straight after the held call or get done. They've tried to fix this area a lot and never seem to find the right solution.

Today is a day you shouldn't be devo'd , we busted ourselves with so many top liners injured or playing injured , today we saw the future and I like it , be proud of the effort , they were up against it on so many counts so to get that close was simply outstanding
Any loss is hard but fair dinkum today we should be mighty proud

Zero tackle say Ennis has played in 7, can't say i have seen him playing there though. If he is any good i wonder if the plan is for Robbo to go to hooker next year and Ennis could be a fill in half for the year until some better halves come available.
