Go on I dare Ya, I'm only at the 40 min mark, have to take a days break. I'll finish it after tommorow nights game

Haha, that doesn't instil me with enthusiasm. I'll just delete it I think. I've only got a penalty goal to look forward to...was it a good penalty goal?

Finally watched the game over two days. I ended up fast-forwarding the last 15 minutes.

Frustrating once again. We've been subject to "the Grind" for the past 6 or 7 years with limited success and I can't take another year (or 3 for that matter if Flanno stays) of this.
It's going to be a long season.
I fail to see what the gameplan is, if any.

Where's our losing streak at btw? Are we on track to break the record?

Even when we still had 20 mins to go down 6-2 or 10-2 I just knew we weren't going to win it.

When we get down to their 20 everyone should be excited that a try is imminent. With us it's all about who's going to stuff up, who's going to put in a **** kick, who's going to throw a stupid pass or who's going to get chopped down a metre short of the line. It's what we do and will continue to do when we have no clue in attack.

If somehow someone makes a break and they're caught a metre short of the line, the next play invariably involves Robson getting his hands on the ball and doing a completely tame inside ball or if it's a normal pass, the poor bloke who gets the ball doesn't have anytime to do anything as the defence are on him due to the lack of speed in Robson's organising and passing.

It's the number nine back up or bust for Robbo I'm afraid.

I didn't see much of the first half. The second half sucked.

I think Flange was right in the press conference when he said that the side lacked cohesion. There's a lot to be said for time together and these guys haven't had much at all. So there's reason to hope they'll improve in time.

Then again, what were they doing all off season.

I was concerned that Flano looked concerned. I'm not sure he knows how to get the attack to flow and Barba to settle. I reckon he's feeling the heat.

As it has for years, you look at our side and the attacking structure sucks. Not necessarily what they're trying to do but how they're doing it.

1. The attack doesn't play straight enough. So much sideways and no where near enough straight runners holding up the sliding defense on the sweep out the back. And the ball moves slowly. It takes a really bad read for us to score on that play. Whats more its usually so well read that the tackle is dominant and we lose momentum.

2. There's too much one out work from our forwards. We've got possibly the most skillful pack inbtge comp man for man - they can all almost all ball play or offload - but we rarely see them go to the line in pairs or threes and play tip-ons or deliberate offloads.

3. There aren't enough options for the ballplayers. Noddy highlighted this in a game last year. We simply don't have as many men moving around the ball on our attacking plays.

4. The roles aren't clear enough. This must be the case because so often there is confusion and people getting in each others way out there. Its embarrassing. Every good coach talks about defining roles clearly so players know what to do when and can practice. Gal, Heighno... most of the forwards get in the way as a matter of course.

5. The long kicking game sux. Not much that can be done beyond recruitment. But at the same time we don't structure up around bombs all that well either - why wouldn't you have a designated catcher (say Gordon) and then two chasers following just behind whose job it is to tackle the opposition catcher if he gets it OR to take a bat back/pass from Gordon if he does?

Those problems have been obvious.for years. At some point Flano has to go or bite the bullet and get someone in to help. Sticky did that in the off season - he got Mick Crawley in to run their offense (the same guy who was doing it in 2008/9 and other years when they've been really deadly with the ball).

Friday night wasn't a roster problem. Often we just haven't had the cattle to complete when the other team turns up like Brisbane did. But this year we do - there were lots of good, proven players making amateur errors and looking completely confused. It was a preparation problem and that's a concern.

2 line breaks are about the only exciting thing we do but even those don't lead to trys

I think we are at a 9 game losing streak at home which is equal to our worst record ever. Titans stand in the way of us breaking it or not in a few weeks.
No more fortress Shark Park that's for sure. More like a country side village now ready for a pillage and raping

My major concern is that we as non coaches can see the problems, lack of options in attack, lack of bodies in motion creating confusion in the d line, lack of speed in defence, lack of forwards going to the line together.

Flanno could copy Penrith or the Dogs game plan as we have (bar the kicking) the same ingredients.

He 0 ideas and I have 0 faith.

If you're in an industry where plagiarism is acceptable, you might as well do it.

From the OTHER Forum - I'm not there yet and I will be at out next home game, yet again whilst in Sydney - but I can understand the sentiment . My sister has watched 8/9 home losses in a row at Shark Park .

Im done as far as attending a game goes. I'll be back when we play something remotely entertaining. In the meantime I'll sit at home or the pub watching the games whilst drowning my sorrows in some drinkable beer.

Weren't you blowing up less than 72 hours ago about this sort of thing though ?

Yes , I was .
I posted it because I DO feel the frustration of other Sharks Supporters . Even more so after Friday night .
Even I am starting to get closer to cracking . Never thought I'd be like this , having ridden the roller coaster for 47 odd years
