If you sit in the concourse near the Shark Bar, it may be a problem with drunks getting pissed up in there.

Actually the time I almost got in a fight it was because some stain blatently pushed in front of me in the drink line. He went under the rope and I told him to piss off. It was just me and my wife and he went away for a while and then later on had a crew and wanted to have a go. Luckily I know a way to get out of any fight, blow them a kiss and put your arm around them, it'll freak them out and mess with their head and most importantly let them know you don't fear them hehehehehe :fergo:

I think I might have seen that, mate.

I remember that happening but I can't remember who we played or what year it was but I definitely remember it as I was standing in the line when it happened.

I think it was about 2007 or 2008 and it was I think the only Sharks win I've seen live, but it was still a thoroughly disappointing night which sucks.

So Pomeroy and Cordoba played well?

I look 4ward 2 watching this game but will have a punching bag ready 2 go for when we get ripped off.

Snowman i hate Pomeroy to but sadly i actually thiink he might be better then Tautai they seem to make the same amount of mistakes but Pomeroy makes some good runs (mind u nearly always ruins them with a useless pass/offload at the end when it was an easy pass to put some1 in2 space.

Either way i dont want Pomeroy or Tautai but we don't have much choice at the moment.

I was disappointed to see Cuthbo dropped but. He has been making good metres, actually streches the line and hasn't made many errors.

If it was then, I was definitely there.

I distinctly remember something like that happening.

I think it was 2007 actually.

I was in the drinks queue and I remember someone got a bit heated with another bloke in the queue for pushing in.

Cordobo and Pomeroy didn't really make their usual characteristic mistakes. Didn't set the world on fire either though.

I would look at Cordobas stats and say they're not good enough, but then I look at Dougies stats and god damn he had a quiet game. I'm not sure how we won the arm wrestle when we only had a few forwards that really put in.

Haven't really gotten around to doing a post-game report on this one until now. For me, yesterday was an overwhelmingly positive day with the only exception being the result.

All the boys really put in a 100% effort, no-one that I saw let the team down in any way. In the end, we were stripped of an opportunity to win that game with a disgraceful decision not to go to the video referee for Gallen's attempt.

The ball was on the line, so the only possible decisions are a try or a double movement. How the hell can Archer rule he was held up when the ball is clearly on the ground? I spoke to Gal after the game and he knows he got the ball down. The only doubt he had was that the referee may have ruled it a double movement as he said the ball slid onto the line. He did not believe it was a double movment as he did not advance the arm carrying the ball, his leg drive drove him over and slid the ball to the line.

This is a legitimate try as he maintained momentum and the ball was never stopped in it's slide to the line. This would have made the game 12-10 with all the momentum swinging our way. As it turned out, the Dragons got the ball back and made a break upfield that lead to a try. This killed off any chance we had at a comeback.

There were plenty of other clangers by Archer and his cronies, including the try where Creagh knocks on from the kick. Dougie said he and three other players were around the incident and all though Creagh had touched it. Anyway, that's my whinge for the day!

As I said earlier, the overall vibe yesterday was overwhelmingly positive. The team spirit that was on display when the big Tifo's were rolled out was truly amazing. You could actually hear the gasps of astonishment from the surrounding bays as they went up. The 'Goons fan's especially were gobsamcked. We really made their hand painted banners look like the kindy kid art that they are.

It was great to see all the boys at the aftermatch function happily signing a ton of autographs despite being seaterd in a dark, unlit marquee (not really well thought out that one!) The best thing I saw was a bloke with his baby that was no more than 6 months old and dressed in a little Sharks jersey. He would go up to each player, plonk the baby on the table in front of them and ask them to sign it! He even asked Gal to sign the babies head, which Gal was a bit concerned about and checked with one of the trainers first to see if it was safe!

The jersey presentation to Toops was a fantastic moment and almost all the players stayed around long after the game, talking and having a drink with the fans, despite their obvious disappointment.

It's great to win of course but the experience of being at yesterdays game reminds me that winning is not necessarily everything.:good:

Here's a link to the stats for the game. http://live.nrlstats.com/matches/nrl/match3579.html

Unless something went wrong and the statistician was counting some of Douglas' runs as being Snowdens (similar to the way the commentator kept getting the name wrong), Douglas had a really quiet game. In fact a lot of our forwards did.

Props (Looks like Snowden/Vave subbed, and Douglas/Cordoba did too)
Kade Snowden - 61 minutes - 16 runs for 149m
Siosaia Vave - 19 minutes - 8 runs for 55m
Luke Douglas - 56 minutes - 6 runs for 49m
Josh Cordoba - 24 minutes - 6 runs for 66m

Back row - Notice that there is a deficit in minutes, most likely because Paul Aiton and John Morris were on the field at the same time in parts. Most likely John Morris was officially a back rower at that point.
Paul Gallen - 80 minutes - 23 runs for 163m
Anthony Tupou - 80 minutes - 8 runs for 57m
Grant Millington - 47 minutes - 11 runs for 71m
Broderick Wright - 14 minutes - 5 runs for 36m

As a side note, Gardner got 196m and Ferguson got 142m.

My thoughts: Our game plan of throwing it around is a breath of fresh air and worked great in the last few weeks. I think these stats above show that we should have gone a bit more conservative for this game. The Dragons had a few of their best forwards out and we could have really hurt them up the middle. This would have compressed their defence so that our outside backs could have perhaps had more luck in finding a hole later on. Hindsight is always 20/20, but I can't help but think Stuart lacks the ability to suit a game plan to a particular opposition. At times when we spread it we just went backwards.

Against the Cowboys I would like to see us hurt them up the middle as much as out wide. If Snowden is out Douglas better step up big time. Look at the small amount of minutes some of our forwards are doing, and the small amount of running guys like Tupou are doing despite playing 80 minutes. We are NOT getting the most out of our pack, which is surprising given we are not being dominated in the middle. If we can unleash this potential we will go a lot better.
