To be honest, he does have a point. Obviously, supporters can't really affect the way the players perform but it is accurate to say that we are in the position we are in because of our "fairweather" supporters.

Many Sharks fans only come out of the woodwork when the team is doing well, only to give up if we fall short. This has a "vicious circle" effect, whereby a reduction in financial support results in a further reduction in on-field performance. This cycle has been going on for some time now and it's getting worse. The lows are lasting longer and the highs are shorter.

The obvious way to break this cycle is for all Sharks fans to give their unconditional support year in, year out. Look at South Sydney; they have arguably performed even worse than us since we joined the comp, yet they have twenty thousand members who don't falter despite the fact they have the worst win/loss ration in the NRL and have won a stack of wooden spoons. Hell! They don't even have their own home ground!

Of course we all get disappointed when our team is not performing but we have to be honest enough to admit that we must share some of the blame for our current situation.

I am adamant that if we consistently had ten thousand members and averaged 15K at home games for the last ten years, we would have won at least one premiership by now.

I hate us losing as much as the next fan, probably more, but the fact remains; if we don't like the current situation, WE have to do something to help change it!

Agreed. But going by some comments, there is a contingent of fans that might be better satisfied if they switch to following the Broncs, or maybe the tinks or crowes. Follow the cash trail and buy wins and maybe even a premiership. They would be happy with their winning culture then. If only some could wake up and see that the Sharks have no choice than to rebuild after years of poor management. They expect way to much if they think it will happen overnight. They need to lower their expectations in line with the rebuilding phase of the Sharks or go follow the queens or some other club.

Effort today was simpy outstanding - as Flanno said execution was poor - disapointing loss for sure = if theres such a thing todays loss was better than the loss to Manly when we should have won

Hey what about the 20s unearthed another young star in Walsh - he has potential all over him , Chad had another blinder too as did Friz and a couple of others

Having a blinder in 20's is a little different to playing at 1st grade standard. How many Porter's, Mill's Gordon's, Wright's, etc etc do you need to see that? It's like Russian roulette at the moment, throw all the juniors in and see whose career isn't ruined because they were promoted too early.
