Common sense tells me the refs got the Paulo one correct as he dropped the ball BUT is it consistent with the Slater ruling? That's up for debate

Would have been very interesting if Paulo kicked it with the toe or top of his boot instead of the heel

Definitely not consistent mate but I reckon the NRL and referees bosses know that they got the Slater one wrong, even though they did their best not to admit it. Behind the scenes they’d be saying to themselves, “Ok we ****ed that one up, let’s not do it again.”

Never in doubt mate.

I just hate it when posters are either TOO Cocky and disrespectful of our opposition .
OR
Have NO faith in our team , when our backs are to the wall thru injury etc .
This would have been an easy game to take for granted and loose .
A massacre was NEVER on the cards , after the incredible efforts to win the 4 games prior understaffed .

Relax mate, thought it was obvious I was taking the piss. Thought my prediction of a 79-1 scoreline gave that away.

Are we talking about Ramien ? He only let 2 in not 3 .. Val let the other one in by rushing up unneccesarily

I need to have another look but i am of the thinking that val was forced to rush up as ramien had drifted too far in.

ramien has been defending too far in field for weeks, maybe he doesn't trust Capewell/Chad

Its a curious one. Even Slater thought his was no try and told the ref that. Turned teammates away for celebrating the try even after it was awarded.

I thought straight up "no try" after Paulo's 'kick' and happy that isn't a try but ya can't say it was any different to Slater's. Infact Paulo actually got a boot to the ball!

Thats how it looked to me watching the game. I blew up at Val for again coming in but he followed he centre on that one I think.

Rate the press conference tonight.

Starts out with Flanno being a cheeky ****er with some journo and then him and Gal saying some good words about our next batch of young forwards. Gal rolled of a few names and Flanno chirped in to make sure Sorensen got a mention. Barba would be welcomed back like a lost dog by a bunch of sad kids.

Great win, really handy to put a few W's together with so many injuries. If Moylan can start to click and we get our full strength team on the park we will be dangerous come finals time. Finally starting to look like a top 8 team. Not top 4 yet, but progress is being made.

Once Lewis and Graham come back, who do we see dropping out? A bench of Bukuya, Segeyaro, Paulo and Ava is probably our best, but damn Williams, Sorensen & Capewell would look good in there too.

What was going on with the clock at the end?

Not one second came off when Mbye kicked the last penalty goal?

When we kicked off, the clock took a good 5-7 seconds to start again?

If the Slater one was a try then that one last night was a try and so should the Fifita one against Brisbane last year. They were all knock-ons 100% but as per NRL business as usual they pick and choose which rules to apply on any given day. Garbage.

I also though the Brailey one was a bad call. If you are lying on the ground after effecting a tackle and someone drops it onto the back of your arm that is not a knock on.

Mistakes happen though mate. The call yesterday was 100% correct.

Agree about the drop kick.

The Brailey one seems like a "common sense" try to me, but I'd rather they go by the book and whatever that says (I don't know the wording). I can't think of any similar example where they have ruled the other way in recent times, but I'm sure it won't take long to see the same thing happen and a different interpretation applied.
