Is J.Smith still injured? He is not listed on the injury list on the sharks website.

Yes he would be. He done a medial ligament strain to the medial collateral ligaments at the knee. That is generally a 4-6 week injury. I owuld expect him to return the week after our next bye.

That was a very poor effort. The worst performance of this season I would say. I did think this was a danger game and that we may lose but I didn't think it would be anything like that.

There was no go forward, no direction or organisation. And really if we are being honest there was no heart in the performance either, which is unusual for our side.

I appreciate that there are alot of injuries and then rep duty must be added on top. All those players would likely be in the starting 17 if available so I get that but the line up wasn't very different from the one put up last week, and even though I think we lose that game without Gallen the team still showed alot more than what they did last night and we need better than that right now, especially with our league position considered and the fact that we are up against Melbourne next week.

I was happy (well... as happy as you can be) with Bukuya again, and Matt Wright, and thought Dougie really stood up (except gave away 2 soft pentalities and a key error on the Eels line at the start of the game which begs the "what if" question). But everyone else was pretty poor.

We should have our full team back after the bye - all systems go for our run to the finals.

i went to last night's game,

Got tickets on the net in bay 43 south/western side.

Took 1/5 hours to get there the traffic and parking sucks, so just missed the 20's game,

Lined up for 25min to get a Beer to get a flat warm tooheys new ( yuk)
the kegs had blown on the xxxx gold.

Eventually found our seats some one else was sitting in them.
As the computers were down they had double booked the seating, so for the next 15min
People were swapping seats the staff had no ideas missed the kicked off.

Don't know if it was only our bay but we were not happy as were the other supporter trying to watch the game.

After 2 flat beers decided to get a hotdog 10min from half time to beat
the crowd
there was only 2 staff serving food, the "Hot"Dogs were cold pre made in a bag same for the "Hot" Chips.

People might bag out shark park service but give me the hill, a cold VB and a Hotdog anytime.

Should complain to the 2GB Continous Call team this Saturday(or tomorrow night if they open the talkback lines).

After a flurry of people whinged on there after the Manly debacle, that sparked a flurry of negative publicity for our mighty Sharkies.

It'd be nice to see the media heap **** on another club for a change.

Team never looked interested in winning and never believed they could otherwise they wouldn't have resorted to cheap penalty tactics which I was hoping we had taken out of our game over the last few weeks. I've been saying it all year, depleted side or not they need a head doctor this team. They only seem to get themselves up for the big games. For their seasons sake this was a big game however even if it was against Parra on a Monday night without some stars.

There were some players who tried too hard such as Morris and while Dougie providing some surging runs was odd to see him forcing offloads, OFFLOADS people! Since when is that in his game. Was he trying to fill in for Gallen? Some of them landed in hand and some weant to ground. Would be really interested to know if this was instruction from Flanno or he took it upon his own shoulders to try make something happen. Good game anyway.

For once I would have preffered to have Gallen out there ball hogging and trying to do everything, we so missed him and the Snow.

My fears about having TT in there were again relised (not a smart player) but nice try at the end.

Graham looked good with some strong runs but would still like him to do more with the ball, pass and kick wise in the long run.

Porter offered nothing but a decent long kick (on full to opposing player) and constant inside balls. It's a shame to see that he doesn't really seem to be developing and this might be all he ever is capable of. Decent in defense as usual and probably still a better option than T Smith.

Was disappointed with Best but our halves typically didn't really give any quality ball.

Ike was a let down after last week. Didn't seem commited. Backed off that tackle he could have made near the line and also lept up and away from that bomb which he should have had his body under the ball and in the way of the player contesting for.

I was thinking he had lost his speed but he just seems to be very selective about when he decides to wind up and use it. I am not sure if this is due to injury, energy conservation or what? And I'm talking in both attack and defense here.
Still like him though and hope he comes good in the long run.

Was pretty much a NSW/Toyota Cup side out there so was always going to be a big ask but dissapointing to get smashed like that by Parra. Worst "performance" of the year.

I’m sick of opposing teams doing good but expected things from their halves with kicks ect.
We have the worst halves in the comp with Kelly out and can’t even force a line drop out ever.

I actually thought Flano was solid when he came on and I don't really rate him or pay much attention to him usually.
Cordoba also put in.

Problem with our halves goes beyond individual talent and skills. They are providing no leadership or direction in the play and structure. That is something specific that should not fall to a captain (whoever they are).

It seemed even in the first half our hooker Morris was running the show. I know he is more senior and had the "C" but doesn't seem right.

Dust yourselves off boys and no heads down. The season is not gone yet if you want it bad enough.

We can cop a loss (used to it) but not a lack of heart.

Sorry for the long post but all I could do that game was “observe” and take mental notes. There was no enjoyment or excitement whatsoever to be had last night. I was gutted but now I'm over it.

Well done to those fans that got out to Parra. I heard plenty of boos everytime MoiMoi got the ball - assuming this was from Sharks fans cause didn't look like it was for cries of offside penalty or parra have turned on him?

The Parra Fans do this every time Moi Moi has the ball. I think they say "Fui" but not sure.

Gordon is still very fast IMO but did not have alot of space or opportunity to run. One criticism of him though is that he does not use this speed to be particularly elusive like Gardner does. He just runs quick to people and gets tackled. He did this last week too but it didn't matter as much because the other aspects of his game were good. His support play was the only positive I had of his game last night.

my thoughts on the game:
- no discipline= heaps of defense=heaps of points to the other team
- our forwards got absolutely smashed without our big 3
- porter had no chance to play well behind the beaten pack
- graham played well again I thought and in the 2nd half realised we needed metres so started running the ball hard. Looks more and more like a backrower everyday.
- douglas and toops really stood up as the experienced forwards and tried their guts out.
- morris picked up where he left off.
- cordoba showed he can handle a starting spot if needed next year
- gordan didn't do anything wrong but didn't stand out
- mills went alright but got found out abit like wright did at the start of the year, will like wright learn with more games.
- TT played tough and is a good bench option for us
- bukuya gave everything he had and is the sort of player that will never let you down
- vave went alright imo
- mannah still not good enough
- brod always gives his all and doesn't let anyone down, probs needs abit more size to play the way he does. he is 188cm and 103kgs, only 2cms shorter than snowy so probs needs another 5 kilos atleast.

the problem was the VB. ewwww, i call it visitors beer, and you shouldnt support those victorians:cheers

I truely Belive that our players lose heart when playing under Jason Robinson,
they know they cant win under him. and they have given up before they run out,
he is our black cat, we have won 7 games in 7 years while he is ref, and all of the games we have lossed have been just like last night, this guy puts us on the back foot all game, big ten for us short ten for them,, we have lossed other games this year but under good refing, you guys watch when we have Robinson as Ref.

dead right fancy, we didn't have a chance with him. was waiting for it right from the start, and he delivered. can hindmarsh really get up in defence that fast, being the fat, overrated pig he is?....short ten for them, in front of kickers for their tries, penalties for no reason...what a ****wit! not saying we would have beat them the way we played, but were we ever really a hope??

All but full strength eels and sharks minus Smith, Kelly, Gards, Snowden, Aiton, Williams and the legend Gallen. Thats nearly half our top squad.*You could could have*bet your house that the eels would have rolled us. Put these guys back in the side and we are back to round 2 and 3 where we were on fire.

I'm just watching a bit of this game now.

Geez our line speed is terrible.

But I do like Wade Graham's charges on the left edge... they remind me of a bloke of similar style and stature before he finished growing.

Am shocked people are even considering having a swipe at the ref for this game. The team played ****. Injuries and origin can be used as a partial excuse if you are looking for one but even that does not explain the effort levels we are used to from this team.

Also, despite our luck with Robinson in recent times, I find him to be a good ref the majority of the time.

He needs to be more of a team player in defence. He rushed out of the line when he didn't need to and let them get a big line break.

I think he was thinking of the team, he was trying to do something, anything to inspire them to lift. Snowy and Gallen wern't around to do it for him.

I reckon Graham won't be doing this so much when the full team is back on board - he doens't strike me as a selfish or headstrong player.

I really enjoyed his hit on Hayne even if it was a bit high. :D

Yeah I get that he was trying to do that, I think he was trying too hard. They were right down their own end of the field. We just needed to hold the line and defend as a team.
