  • Terry Fearnley sent his players back to school, giving them a questionnaire which asked what problems the side had, and how they could be fixed.
  • The Sharks almost reversed the scoreline of the previous week, though they still lacked the killer instict. "We slowed down in the second half instead of keeping the pressure on," said Fearnley.
  • Cronulla led 26-2 at half-time, but it took until the last six minutes for them to score again, running in two tries.
  • Mark Wakefield injected fluency into the attack at half-back, while exciting lock Steve Hardy, the Sorensens and Greg Mullane all continually pestered the defence.
  • Skipper Gavin Miller made 46 tackles - and did not miss one.
