Will we be running two fifitas, or has the new man H done enough as impact prop and has the Birdman(mehopes) done enough for a benchspot? Is Gards in the mix somewhere or the forgotten man?Has EGJ vacated the building and flexed his last training jersey?

We have a fair amount of options for our bench.

IF gallen is playing in the 13 id say Prior and Fifita props. Then we have Fifita, Houma, Toupo, Heighno, Bakuya (although id assume he will play Lewis' spot while he is out), Bird, Arona (dont forget arona too), Taga.

Gards will fill the same role as injury cover for Gordon only, but even then Holmes might slot in.
I would say D.Fifita is ahead in the pecking order against Houmo

I would even say mitch brown will cover fullback before gardner

I dunno. From what I've heard Nathan has his speed back. I don't think he's back to regular first grade quality, but if his speed is back to anywhere near where it was, that puts him ahead of Brown in the queue as far as I'm concerned.

Brown can't start surely. Please nooooo

I agree .

"Old conservative" Flanno is still in the house if he comes up with that selection.

Brown provides excellent cover , but he is not a first up selection with the squad available.

I think its pretty clear that the starting lineup from the Tigers game will start against the Raiders.

Bukuya will come on to the bench which leaves two last bench spots for some mix of Taga, D. Fifita, Arena and Bird.

You think tupou will start over boogie? Gotta disagree there. Flanno has been pretty consistent with wanting Toops to come off the bench.

Yeah I do. Partly because JB hasn't had any football, and partly because I think the edge back rowers will be doing a lot of ballplaying which is obviously Troops' strength.

He's started games early in the season quite often from memory.

Fair point on Bukuya's lack of match fitness, i didnt consider that. Bit of a moot point though because when lewis comes back, both will be coming off the bench which could prove to be vital as impact edge backrowers.

Well one of them surely has to play in the middle when Lewis comes back, assuming he starts on the right edge with Gal at Lock. I *think* Tupou gets more offloads away when he plays in the middle and ball-plays before the line a bit more when he's on the edge.

I'm backing the 1-13 we saw in the trial is odds on.

Politoni misses out with Ennis to play 80. Difita gets the nod over Houma. Arona over Bird (for now).

Gordon
Feki
Beale
Leutele
Holmes
Barba
Robson
A.Fifita
Ennis
Prior
Tupou

D.Fifita

I agree with you.

If I was picking the team I'd drop Leutele though and either:

1. Push Feki to centre and bring Gagan in on the wing

2. Put Bird in the centres
