Round 1 2016 - Your Team

Yes, I know it's early and it's another bloody "name your team" thread but I have a few conditions for you to follow.

Assuming all squad members are fit, name your team for Round 1 against the Cowboys.
The conditions are you cannot bracket players in a position and no extended benches - give me the 1-17 that you would have on the park against JT and company.

A good choice HB agree re Bakuya and thinking Sene-Lafao could prove to be a great asset ,might add a bit of mongrel

Tempted by Nu Brown but I'm sticking with four forwards first round.

I'm the same way, specifically as we are talking about versing the cows who very obviously monstered us in the forwards last time round.

I really like nu and think there's a spot for him this season, would just like to see how he goes in a few reserve grade games to gain match fitness and see how he goes on that acl.

I had the same thoughts as you HB. Nu is going to be good but I don't think he should be there for Round 1, unless he plays out of his skin at the 9s and the trials. I know we have the new interchange rules coming but I like the idea of having four big boppers on the bench.

I could put Bukuya starting & Lewis off the bench aswell, thats 50/50 for me, I'm not fixed on either halves, Wouldn't matter who starts half & 5/8.

Prior needs to be in the 17 IMO. He's the type of prop each team needs. I'd have him ahead of Taga.

Looks like from all the posts so far that the 1-7 is all set as follows:

If Bird is centre, he has to be on Val's side, those two had a good combo in the 9s last year and will be lethal.
I'd definitly have Maloney at 6, he needs to be the link to the backline not Chad.
