Of course you would. Any sane person would take what's on offer. I don't begrudge the guy at all. He is providing for his family and it is his right to set themselves up well financially.

What I dislike at the moment is all the speculation. I honestly cannot understand why everyone needs to throw their little two cents in, claim players have been signed when they haven't and guessing how much he's being offered.

At the end of the day it is his business. No one else's. No one seems to get that. I am not a media fan and it is their fault that people like to gossip and say they know more than someone else.

And please this is not directed to you Yarrashark or Sharkyboy, I'm just tired of all the gossip, sniping, bragging, windbagging, politics and general negative crap on here day after day. I just want to go to the footy and support my team.

That is all.

I believe you mate. I just don't get how they can pay Fifita 750k a year and then turn around and make Lichaa an offer he can't refuse. Didn't they pay Trex 500k a year and Pritchard almost the same?

But we pay his salary. Every rugby league fan in the country is paying his salary. That's a fact. We are the income of the game. Not the NRL or sponsors, us. Without us there is zero money. So people will have an opinion.

Not directly. That's the same chestnut the media use to criticise governments saying taxpayers are paying millions of dollars for something. A generalisation. An overstatement. I'm not paying millions of dollars.

And as for Fifita's salary, I'm not forking out $700K, $800K or whatever the offer is. My $500 per year for my season ticket is peanuts by itself only. So I'm not paying his salary, maybe just a dollar of it. Small potatoes. So I don't believe myself or anyone else should speculate, guess, criticise etc. Just sit back, wait for the announcement and move on.

Please tell me our club, losing out on Andrew Fifita isn't now stupid enough to lose Lichaa to the same club given that money is obviously available with the loss of Fifita.

the game was a bit all over the place...

the line up was different to what was named.

gards
stapo
roqica
gagan
hymel hunt
kurt mann
penani
robinson
lichaa
weston
moors
morris
sorensen

slade griffen
fifita
number 18?
politoni

started off attacking, penanin put a great grubber in, their fullback picked it up, raced 50, 20 on one with gards, passed to the half back, gards turned chased and got a piece of him, but did his shoulder.

mann went to fullback.

lichaa put robinson over before we had a mental lapse and didnt catch the kick off. the resulting drop out we kicked out on the full and they scored.

some creative play by penani and a great run by gagan and he put stapo over out wide.

then, in the blink of an eye, bang bang bang, 3 lichaa tries and we were comfortable 28-12 leaders at halftime.

second half dogs kicked off. 2nd tackle a quick david fifita play the ball and lichaa ran 40 before putting sorensen over.

more attack lead to gagan scoring, before we were reduced to 1 on the bench and the dogs came back.

lichaa was man named man of the match, but the best on ground was david fifita, it honestly looked like andrew playing.

lichaa was good though but came off with an injury. politoni sucked so bad its not funny.

sorensen was the pick of the unknowns, looks very good.

melbourne came off the worst on the injury front.

good game, but looked like we still had a grand final hangover

Anyone know more about the foot injury Difita has been carrying for the last month?

You'd think that playing on it mustn't be making it any worse, otherwise surely they'd be allowing time for it to recover.

i'll add...

gards: looked good at fullback, but his injury killed what would have been a good game for him as it was very open.

stapo: played well, stayed on his wing, tackled well. him and gagan monstered their side. he seems like a scott porter to me, awesome in reserves, but cant make the proper transition to the nrl.

roqica: played in the centres with leutele out. didnt get much ball, but his defense was good. moves well laterally for a very big guy.

gagan: has nrl written all over him. big guy, very quick, great in defense. he saved 3 tries with a bat down and 2 bull**** tackles. ended the game at fullback.

hymel hunt: you can tell he is a centre, not a winger, got caught out a bit.

kurt mann: looked ok, went to fullback when gards went off injured. then he got injured.

penani: looked very good. his kicking game was second to none. but you can tell he has had a nasty arm injury. didnt want to tackle the big guys.

robinson: will be handy come origin time.

lichaa: his 3 tries over inflated what was a solid game for him. defense was a bit tighter this game. maybe he was just trying to hard to impress in the trials.

weston: meh

moors: would love him on our books. he is a beast.

michael morris: local junior? very good player.

sorensen: gun. one to watch for the future.

slade griffen: would poach him in a heart beat, especially if we lose lichaa

david fifita: was the best on ground by the length at flemmington. looked like andrew was playing.

number 18: no idea who it was. didnt do much.

pat politoni: bad game.
