Roger Tafua, an 18-year old prop from the Canterbury Bulls, was signed by the Sharks in 2005, along with his team-mates Brackin Henry and Quincy To'o To'o.

- Tu'u Maori - U-18s fullback/centre/wing/five-eighth from Auckland, who won Man of the Match in the Secondary Schools Grand Final in Auckland, playing for St Paul's College.
- Iuomalo Su'a (Iu Su'a) - a massive young prop from the Warriors. School-mate of Tu'u Maori.
- Toshio Laiseni - 19 year old fullback/centre/winger from the Warriors.
- Tevita Latu - former New Zealand Test hooker, joins the Sharks from the Warriors after a struggle for form in 2005.
- Peewee Moke - former Endeavour High centre, and a stand-out in the Roosters' victory over the Sharks in the 2004 Jersey Flegg grand final.

- Alvin Tavana - Goal-kicking fullback, school-mate of Tu'u Maori at St Paul's College, Auckland.
- William Wiki - From Northland Rugby League, toured Australia in 2004 with the Northern Districts U/18 team, which played a match against the Cronulla U/18 Development Squad. Played in an U/18s Maori team with Brackin Henry, against the Cook Islands in October 2005.
