CRONULLA SHARKS SIGN MORE EELS JUNIORS
Story by :
oft_s9a.jpg

Sharks sign Rodney Moefaauo & Nathan Gardner as well as Albert Kelly

Cronulla Sharks have also signed Para's NSW under 18 prop Rodney Moefaauo for two years, 2010/11.

Rodney Moefaauo is the most promising prop in Para's recent history.

Moefaauo played NSW under 16 in 2008 and NSW under 18 last week as an under 17 player.

Sharks have also signed from Para winger/fullback Nathan Gardner from the Eels Toyota Cup side (he is under 19 this year).
He has played in NSW age teams the last few years and was one of their best prospects.

This must leave Para supporters are left pondering why we are losing our best juniors and the luring of Kelly, Gardner and Moefaauo has left Paramatta officials with red faces and a please explain from supporters.

Great news. Looks like we are starting to get a great youth that can step up for the next few years. The only worry is that by the time they will be ready for FG their contracts may be up again but really if they are promising enough that shouldnt be an issue as they will get a go.

nice to know we are raping parra's junior ranks

2 words for it: Joseph Grima

if we didnt have him as our NYC coach, i highly doubt we would get them

Ex-Parra NYC coach, Current Sharks NYC coach.... Current NSW 18's coach.

He's had plenty of time to get in their ears.

Agreed but hopefully we are not paying them what we were paying him. This time it isnt just banking on the one person (although there is way too much pressure on Albert Kelly already). They are basically making an all-star NYC team which is great news. They have even signed another young prop from Titans for NYC apparently.

So as long as the expectations arent too high and they dont get rushed into first grade then we will have instant quality youth again for next year even tho many have been blooded this year. That is a good thing.

I haven't personally seen much of Rodney Moefaauo, though talking to some scouts and agents around the place they all are very impressed with him as a player and say he's a great trainer too. Some have gone as far to say he's 'by far the best' in his age. (Assuming for front rowers, it was through a txt)

Also read that he played great for Westfield Sports' win over Hunter Sports last week in the Arrive Alive Cup. Mofo also grabbed a try.

Any idea when Kelly, Gardiner, Vave and Moefaauo are signed until?
