How about we sign this Richie Myler if we end up requiring a halfback and he's available ?

WIKIPEDIA :

Myler signed for Salford from Widnes on a three-year deal in 2008 and contributed to Salford winning the National League One title, scoring 25 tries in 32 appearances,[2] and winning numerous awards as well as the Co-Operative Player of the Year award.

Myler has represented both the Lancashire and England U17s at Academy Level.

He was named in the England training squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup.[3]

He was named in the England team to face Wales at the Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster prior to England's departure for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup.[4]

He made his England début in the victory over Wales on 10 October 2008.[5]

On 14 February 2009 Myler made his Super League début against Crusaders, scoring a try in a Salford victory.

Myler represented England against France on 13 June 2009. He started the game at scrum half and scored 30 points in the 66-12 England victory.[6]

In September 2009 it was announced that he had signed a 4-year contract with Warrington worth around £200,000, making him the most expensive teenage signing in Rugby League history.[7]

Myler was offered a new contract which allegedly would have made him the highest paid player in the history of the club. According to agent Martin Offiah he rejected the deal, instead favouring a 4-year deal with Warrington.[8]

Myler was not called up to the England RL side for the Four Nations in 2011, however he was selected in the England Knights where he put in two man of the match performances but was still not called up.

He looks the goods and is youngish

Won't have as much time or space to work with in NRL, that is for sure. I don't think an import is the answer when their are quality experienced NRL half backs still up for grabs

Not dissing the thread though egg, good to ask the question after you've obviously done a little bit of research on the lad and always interesting learning about other players from other leagues

You mentioned this yesterday in the rumour mill thread yet a new thread is created to discuss him...

That's correct .
I knew it would have been lost amongst the 10, 000 DCE posts ( lol )
Was hoping more forum members would shed light on this fella if he had his own thread , especially Snowman .
Who knows 700K/year spent here might be better cap utilization if he's as good as his past performances and highlights reel show .
Happy to be informed if he's a dud , even happier if the club investigates and finds he's a winner .

Further update : Looks like he's available 2016 at this stage

Super League: Warrington Wolves rule out Richie Myler leaving for Hull KR

Warrington Wolves have poured cold water on speculation scrum-half Richie Myler could join Hull KR on loan for the 2015 season.

The Robins have been on the lookout for playmaker reinforcements following Kris Keating’s release and Travis Burns’ close-season switch to St Helens.

Hull KR did land former Gold Coast pair Albert Kelly and Maurice Blair at the weekend, however, that did not dampen talk of a possible New Craven Park switch for the 24-year-old.

Warrington have now attempted to clarify the situation by confirming Myler, who has one year remaining on his Halliwell Jones Stadium contract, is staying put.

“There is no interest from us in letting Richie Myler go. It’s just message board rumours. There has been no contact from us with Hull Kingston Rovers,” chief executive Andy Gatcliffe told the Warrington Guardian.

The rumour mill thread pretty much is the DCE thread right now so fair enough as messages are getting lost in there but $700k per season? Are you having a laugh

That coin would get us a proven NRL performer at half back

Who's left that we could buy for next year that you would call proven and injury free for $700K or less ?

No such thing as an injury proof player but Hodkinson could be picked up for less that $700k and do a fine job for us, in-fact apparently it's flanno's backup plan already

700k could probably get hodkinson interested imo. He isnt a game changer like dce so wont demand the bigger price tag. But he wont leave the dogs for nothing.

There really isnt a lot on offer in the way of half backs that could deliver a premiership. Dce is the golden goose. Maloney hodkinson seazer.

Hodkinson's kicking game would be game changing for our team though, I think it could transform us and actually suit the style of play Flanno runs the team with andconsidering the **** we have had since kimmorley left
