Ahhh a good old fashion old school Cronulla implosion. Geez this took me back....
I'm not even mad, I kinda suspected they'd give us a touch up. Raiders were playing for their season and it showed, they deserved the big win tonight. Whereas our blokes, another complacent display by our blokes, been the story of our year, especially at home (I'm yet to attend a win this year). It's simply a premiership hangover folks, we're not hungry enough. Still. We're in the position to turn this around, but with a tough 2 week QLD road trip coming up, it's looking unlikely.

It's frustrating because you saw in the first 10 minutes what this team is capable of when they give a ****. You've seen against the Roosters, the Storm, the game in Canberra. When our guys want it enough, nobody can touch em. They gotta find that motivation and find it ****ing fast.

Obviously missing Jimmy hurts, but we had enough quality out there to give a better account of ourselves then that.

The fans deserve better.

It was retro round >>

Based on last night - 2017 is gone

A few things:
Beale struggles
Feki is great close to the line 10 m out but a crap defender
Bird is in Disneyland
I've always said Townsend is crap and last night proved it - cannot play with Maloney and only showed form at warriors cause of Johnson
Heino is over it - he needs to retire
Nu is not a first grader
Capewell should be in for Heino he has not had the same impact as last season off the bench.

You talkin about 4 rounds ago?
We won our two games after the titans loss. Last night was the 1st loss since then.

We dominated both those games. The point I was making is that if we relinquish a lead, I've lost the confidence I had (prior to the Titan's loss) that we can fight back to win.

Mate u arent going to win every game with a shut out. Conceeding a few tries isnt a sign of being bad defensively. We were averaging like 2 tries conceeded per game til now. The defensive lapses are effort not ability. The tries we conceed so often come on the back of silly penalties or errors.

With our defensive ability, if we respected possession more and had more discipline without possession we'd win most games no worries.

Our attack is the problem though, it seems our plan is cut out ball to lewy or wade and hope they do something with it.

Agreed BWB, we've suffered from poor discipline all season, and have won on the back of our super strong defence. Obviously fatigue has become an issue with leaking easy points, so if they don't cut out the ill-discipline, they need to step up the defensive effort for the whole 80 minutes.

As some have mentioned going for the 2 at 6-0 killed our momentum. I'm okay with taking the 2 against some teams at certain times but that missed on both counts. We ambushed the Raiders in the first 8-10mins and were well on the front foot, we should have kept applying pressure - they are useless without the ball. I really think that minute or so gave the Raiders the time they needed to go "okay boys, we gotta get into this footy game" and they did.

We went to "game management" and they went to another level.

To concede 6 points while they were down to 12 men is really bad, but the fact we gifted them those points through poor discipline makes it even worse.

Our line speed in D didn't even reach the heights of being ****house, it was non-existent! No kick pressure and they were running 8-10m off the ruck before worrying about passing.

Its been a few years since I've wanted to switch off before fulltime. I'm ok with losing but not when they cave in and **** themselves.

I Think Wade didnt even see the blake Austin until it was to late, he was watching the ball and just bumped him and Austin took a dive.

Agree he was watching the ball. Still a penalty every day of the week though.

Agree. Penalty for sure. It sucks the bunker can go that far back though. Fifita proceeded to fend off 4 or 5 more tacklers after the obstruction. They had ample chance to **** the play down. Correct call though

Gallen made a interesting point on the radio this morning the Sharks didn't touch the ball once Josh Papalii was in the sin bin. Raiders played smart took 30 secs
to make a decision to kick for goal.

Disagree with this, we played extremely dumb by continually giving them penalties. Three penalty goals while he was off. Brain dead footy from us, so dumb.

Well that was wrong. Papalli went off and then Townsend took the tap and passed it to Boogs who dropped it. If we'd been more careful and as HB said, not played dumb footy, we were win with a chance of winning.
It was probably the dumbest we had played in a long time.

forget for a second that the sharks lost, as league fans who the **** wants to watch blokes stand around having a conference for 30 seconds about a penalty and then taking 2 minutes to kick a regulation ****ing penalty goal and then seeing that repeated 3 times in a row

not blaming the raiders for that but I should have just walked out then cause obviously the time for the actual football part of the match was evaporating away

if the NRL arn't gunna stop the clock for dead ball situations then give these goal kickers an aggressive 30 second shot clock, step up take your kick or forfeitt it and **** off back to your side of the field. chewing up the clock should not be a viable or legitimate strategy. Let the teams sort it out over 80 mins of actual game time.

what a waste of everyone's night
