Yes, I know I'm starting this thread rather early with a bye next week, but it's a significant game.

We'll really entrench ourselves in the top four if we win this but we play 72 hours after Origin III and the burning question is do we rest our Origin players or run the risk of playing them like we did against Manly. We all know what happened there.

Would be good to get everyone's thoughts.

Edit: Sorry, forgot to put the date on and my iPad won't let me edit it properly. It's July 15.

I would seriously consider resting origin players (maybe not val, abd depending on minutes graham/bird) but maloney and fifita. Even if it comes to a loss, a bit of a breather before the back end might be beneficial. I dunno. Its a hard 1. Origin can stuff a team but u need rep players in ur team to be successful really

This mob always match up well against us... didn't see the incident but will James be in trouble and miss game time for that trip?

Yeah they always seem to have our measure. Agree with bwb id be resting fifita and maloney, just for well-being. I'd be happy for all 5 to be rested if its necessary. Titans will have hayne wallace and peats backing up too. Look after them this week then hit hard throughout the last 6 weeks.

If we rest Maloney does Nu Brown play in the halves?

Would that mean Seggy and Captain America sharing a hooker?

Both clubs should liase, and declare an armistice, resting respective origin players.

Anyone from on here going to the game? I will be going but may be on my own as the group i'm away with, are going to the GaFl at 430pm, was thinking of watching all NRL grades therefore.

Looking forward to going to this game, driving up from Newcastle on the Thursday and taking in a few places on the way up the coast. Staying at Coolangatta on the Saturday night..

Pity some of the origin players might be out but oh well, it's our annual family holiday week when we play the Titans.

Away game, result not in doubt, just give us the 2 points it's a lock

Someone musta left a killa floater in the change rooms at Shark park though and Flanno is still saving up for a plunger

Have to wait and see what Origin coughs up before deciding who to rest but fair to say Maloney will have a busy night whether he wants to or not, same with Fifita I'd imagine, so they'd be my most likely.

Depending on Cordner and Frizelle ya dunno what sort of workload Wade will have to get through, probably next inline for a rest.

Val is a winger and should be fine to go unless he gets a real working over. He'd had a hobble the last 2 games, I dunno what that is about but if its something and it gets worse maybe him too. But that would be an injury related rest not a freshen up thing so doesn't really count.

Barring injury bringing Bird into the game early he'll play less than half a game so should be fit to go, and will no doubt want to back up.

My guess is that all five origin players will be in the final 19 but at least one of them will miss the game. Flano won't sit 5 blokes out but we saw last season how willing he was to rest one guy here and there. With Nu in the 17 my guess is we will see Maloney sitting down at the back end of a game or two rather than missing a full match.

At this stage I'd like us to rest Fifita and Jimmy but lets see how SOO plays out.
