If we can do this (providing injury doesnt take its toll like this year) then i think we can build a strong future of finals footy once again and maybe a premiership can come to the shire

for 2008

LEADERSHIP GROUP
We need to build a leadership group, one captain on field, but a leadership group IMO.. Brett Kimmorley, Ben Ross, Lance Thompson, Luke Covell & Paul Gallen need to create a leadership group on the field/off the field...it just will help the onfield decisions and training.

Example.. Melbourne Storm 07'/06' (Billy Slater, Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk, Matt Geyer & Mick Crocker)

COMBINATION QUARTET
1, 6, 7 and 9.. they are the 4 numbers we need to keep occupied by the same stars as much as possible, it needs to be 1. Brown. 6. Seymour. 7. Noddy. 9. De Gois and Kearney off the Bench! if we can keep them on field as much as possible throughout 2008 it would be a BIG BIG BIG bonus with Green in back up!

Example... Brisbane Broncos 06'/07' (Karmichael Hunt, Darren Lockyer, Shane Perry & Shaun Berrigan) or West Tigers 05' (Brett Hodgson, Benji Marshall, Scott Prince & Robbie Farah with Dene Halatau on bench)

FORWARDS TO LIFT
Now, we already know we have 4 awesome backrowers in Thommo, Gallen, Bird and Williams! But the key to success, is our big men up front. I don't care what any of you say but an important part of our success will be Ben Ross & Luke Douglas!!
Ben and Luke will be our first string props for 08, with new recruits Bryan Norrie and Kade Snowden, and big men Jacob Selmes & Eddie Su'a, and Youngsters like Rob Worsley and Ray Moujalli we need to create 2 starting props, 2 bench props, 2reserve grade/bench spots, who can play hard every week and that can stand up.. when Ross or Douglas is out

Example... Sea Eagles 07 (Jason King, Brent Kite, Adam Cuthbertson, Mark Bryant, Jack Afamasaga been working so consistant throughout injurys/state of origin).

AN EXCITING BACKLINE!
Yes, Yes, Yes.. we need to be FLASH! we need to be EXCITING! we need to have someone kids go 'I wanna be like Slater' or 'I wanna be like Hunt' or whatever.. next year, it's hard i know with someone as slow as Covell, but we can make an exciting backline!
David Simmons, Ben Pomeroy, Karl Filiga, Luke Covell and Mitch Brown can be something exciting!

Example.. Parramatta Eels 07' (Luke Burt, Jarryd Hayne, Ben Smith, Eric Grothe, Krisnan Inu, Timana Tahu have been incredible) or Melbourne Storm 07' (Billy Slater, Greg Inglis, Will Chambers, Israel Falou, Matt Geyer, Matt King hava elaos been outstanding)

MORE YOUNG STARS!
NAMES LIKE... KADE SNOWDEN, KARL FILIGA, BLAKE GREEN, ROB WORSLEY, DANIEL ROACH, CARL FRITZ, BRYSON GOODWIN, REECE ROBINSON, DANE NIELSEN... like some of those names to make an appeearance starting in 08 and into 09... look at Mitch Brown, become some what of a superstar in my opinion! More fans, more cash flow, more friday night channel 9 games giving Gus Gould heart attacks!!! = more money for the club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RA'S 30 MAN 2008 SQUAD

hey Hybo, tell me if i nailed it here or not

I take my comments back, you are not a smart arse, just very smart.

Overall I'm impressed but I would like to challenge a couple of comments.

Leadership Group - in lieu of Ross I'd go Bird.

Combination quartet - I'm easy as to Kearney/Brown but ideally Id like to have Kearney on the field as long as possible although Mitch has done nothing wrong.

Fowards - agree totally.

More young stars - hence Sticky's recruitment strategy. If we have a future as a club it has to be built around our youth. Met Mitch with my kids a couple of weeks ago and he is the most unassuming and nice young bloke (as were all of the guys in the team we met).

Squad - Weston is going to the Cowboys last I heard, Neilsen must have leprosy because he never gets a call up, and I think Ciraldo has been given enough chances.

RA - very impressive. Wish I was as football savvy as thou.

Sounds good to me but:

Weston has gone to the Cowboys and Kearney needs to be our No.1 - While Brown is giving it his all, he doesn't have that natural tallent that Kearney has.

Young Mr Ross has to stop worrying about how he looks and concentrate more on being like Willie Mason, Dave Taylor, Petero C (too hard to spell this late), Mark O'Meley, etc...

Hence my desire that he get his own house in order first.

give him time and he will

ciraldo..flick him off and we can put the money towards a class player or some of our juniors, same with kingston..oh why did tony caine go

seymour will be the first choice half after his recent performances and nods lack of performances when he was playing...and green will be 5/8...

we have had our injury run now where due for something decent..top 6 finish i hope..ross he is now getting back to his form that put him into origin..douglas can only get better...simmons flick him as well, use the money for juniors with talent

use the money gain by sacking ciraldo kingston and simmons to players like neilson, raftery and another gun youngster, daniel roach will be great after a full pre-season under our fitness scheme not unions eat n run tactics

Peach your delusional and heres why;

Tony Caine has done absolutely nothing since defecting to the dragons and De Gois has proven to be a far superior player.

You seem to keep repeating that the halves next year will be Green and Seymour minus noddy but unless you are actually Ricky Stuart then your seriously missing the ****ing plot. Everyone knows Kimmorley will be starting half next year no matter what your continued ranting suggests.

You stateDaniel Roach will be great after a pre season but where is you evidence? He has done nothing that would indicate that he has anything even remotely like a future in the game. I hope he proves me wrong but I doubt it.

roach, came to us mid way through this season and still has the union look about him, the club are still working on him to get him into the right shape

kimmorley wont be here for much longer...england is calling...seymour mentioned post game that ricky will most likely give him first shot because he has earnt it and noddy will play a different role and frankly seymours form showed he deserves it

am i the only one here who can see noddy for what he really is? one dimensional hack, who has been past it since he left the storm, wont lead us to anything while he is here, he says at the start of every year he has changed but continually shows he hasnt

of course caine hasnt done much..remember he suffered a nasty leg break, doesnt take 2 weeks to get over it...

i respect that, thats your opinion

we cant attract decent 6's because they take one look at who there partner will be and they back away, cause he [noddy] chokes them out of the team and continually overrides there calls and they cant play there own game

i put this to you all...when was the last time we made a serious dent in the finals - 2002 vs warriors...noddy has had 6 yrs of failure, we need to move on. otherwise why bother
