Talking about Carney now, Gal just saying once again he wants him to stay in the NRL and sticking up for him in regards to the media. Nothing about signing.
Flanno stressing that the press conference is nothing more than Gal being a Shark for life.

tell u what im glad it wasnt smack bang on 11 o clock, tried doing it on my ipod realised it needs adobe stupid ipod ****s, then tried to start up the slow ass computer, yelling at the ****ing thing, didnt help haha, finally got it up just in the nick of time haha, i love the way gal talks about cronulla and im glad he cleared up alot of the misconseptions people have about the club, this si the most important news this and next season for the sharks.

I don't think the reality of the signing will set in for a while, but it is a MASSIVE step forward in the future of the Club to tie up Gal. When you consider the fact that;
1. The Property Development is still yet to be entirely approved.
2. A new salary cap system is just around the corner that will seriously alter pay scales.
3. Gal was offered big money elsewhere (although specifics were not mentioned)
4. Our playing roster isn't the flashest.
...to get Gal to sign up for life is remarkable. Carney for a couple of years or Gal for the rest of his career? I know what I think is the bigger story of the two.
One other thing that snowman alluded to the other day but that wasn't discussed in the detail it deserved; you can't begin to imagine how much of a win (and show of loyalty) it is for/to the Club that Gal didn't test the free agent market. He probably could've dragged the process out and squeezed a lot more money out of the Club by playing the waiting game. But he didn't. He's a loyal as anything I've ever seen. To be perfectly honest, in my eyes all Gal needs to do from here to bypass ET as the greatest Shark ever is to make it to the 300 Club (a real possibility now) and get the to the Grand Final. Doesn't even need to win it to make the claim.
Man love for Gal grows every day.

Gallens words were inspiring and instilled confidence in me.
Also loved Flanagan's ability to dictate conversation terms to the media! It was like "sorry dad" hahaha. I can see why he's a good coach, he comes off as being kind yet strict at the same time.
