Potential Round One Side

OK I'm predicting we'll miss the 8 regardless of what the team is for round 1.

I'm factoring in SJ missing the first 10 games, hopefully he's back sooner.

Not a lot of faith in us scoring points without him unless Moylan can absolutely pull something out of his arse, assuming his arse isn't injured.

I think we'll be a long way behind the 8 whilst SJ is out.

Also think Manly, assuming Turbo and Foran stay fit (massive IF), will be in the 8. Hard to find a stronger 1/6/7 in the comp. I know they have weaknesses elsewhere but those three will win a heap of games for them.

Titans also a chance of getting into the 8.

Yep, agree with all of that. We are at long odds of making the 8 even when SJ comes back or if he comes back earlier. I just don't think we have the strike power.

I have seen enough of chad townsend to know id rather see what others have.
i also believe moylan can only be good in the halves. hence i have put dugan at fullback. we dont really have one IMO.

If he’s healthy I reckon he’ll be picked.

Just guessing, personally I wanted to retain him and don't mind that we have.

But he went without a contract into late November and ended up not signing anywhere else, has stayed with club where he is 5th string half. We don't think the cap has much space so I doubt he has got much if anything over minimum wage.
For a while there he had dropped out of being a listed player for us, so it sounds like he went deep into offseason looking for something and ended up taking minimum wage with Sharks, where he is well down the pecking order.
I assume then he didn't have anything else on offer.

Pretty sure there were people on here offering up that he was actively looking for other options too, although without sources behind that it's not particularly more meaningful than anything else.

I think Toby has to play prop. The other props, BHU, Wood, Tolman and Fifita have no real lateral movement. We need at least one dynamo in there. That allows Talakai to make the lock spot his own.

Nikora has apparently been training the house down, not confident he can find the form he had when he started, but would be great if he could. I'm also crossing fingers, eyes and balls hoping Moylan gets his body right. All that said...

To be honest, I forgot Woods. I am not a really a fan though. I like props to be aggressive in either defense or attack and he is neither. In 10 or so years of first grade, I have never seen him pull of a hit or run over anyone. He always seems like he is in 3rd gear.

If I was opposition, I'd love playing against Woods.

Had surgery on approx October 8th with 6-8 week typical recovery, and can be seen in photos at preseason so is at least doing partial training.
We are almost 10 weeks since surgery currently so he may not be doing 100% of training just yet but shouldn't be any reason to doubt he will be fit come round 1.

Mmmmm yeah... kinda.

I did mean just running straight and hard knocking blokes out of the way, but I get that it is not his style. He is more about getting more yardage staying on his feet creeping forward, while looking to offload. But, as I said, for me personally, I'd rather a bit more aggression from my props. Bring back Beatie, Bang Bang and Stevenson!
