the possible team named in the daily telegraph today:

1. slater
2. folau
3. gasnier
4. inglis/hodges
5. hayne
6. lockyer/anasta
7. thurston
8. kite
9. c smith
10. civoniceva
11. hindmarsh
12. hoffman
13. bird

14. gidley
15. crocker
16. gallen
17. mason

i dont think lockyer should really be in calculations. in the very next article it says he has only played 39 mins in the past four rounds. i think its a contest between anasta and bird. if bird gets it, gallen can move into lock and another forward can be named on the bench (tupou has been in form).

i think instead of 'wasting' inglis on the wing, he would probably just beat hodges to a centre spot and leave hayne on the wing. that being said though, you get the feeling either way it is a strong line up.

does everyone think gallen will get in?(starting or bench)
i would pick him however he hasn't played lately and there is a lot of backrowers going around with talent.

yeah zak i do think he should be picked. he has been playing well in the games he played this year and has been successful in rep sides last year.

myles has been playing well this year mate, hes been called to be the first picked for qld origin by a few ppl. i reckon mason and hayne should be there. i agree with you on kite though, im not sure what selectors see in him, a bloke like douglas would do a much better job in my opinion.

yeah i agree Rise Against. he really is a top player, but unfortunately theres a lot of good back rowers going around today and i dont see him getting a look in for the australian team. even the nsw team might be hard to crack in his position. its tough coz u know he would do a great job there

i think laffranchi has been tearing it up and deserves a shot at origin at worst.
however the selectors and myself seldom see eye to eye.

Backrow,centres/wing and 5/8 are the real hard possys to choose hey. I think Bird should be 5/8, he is the incumbent one, and played well there last year.

prince said in big league that they should chose himself and thurston. believes that neither of them should miss out

he probably said that because it looks like he is going to miss out. i think you should pick the best half and the best 5/8, not the best and second best half.
