Think we need to poll who should be covering positions this weekend since there are so many descusions over Porter V Smith and Ike V Stapleton

I reckon Chad Townsend should play NYC till he comes of age, hes turning 20 this year isnt he so he should get some NSW cup under his belt aswell before stepping up.

townsend and gordon

Second that Townsend and Gordon.

Worst case scenario Townsend gets a couple of games of FG under his' belt, that he knows what its about, and where he has to improve.

Either way Smith has been crappie, and so has SFP.

Before anything though, he needs to be extended.

i think with two of our main attacking weapons out injured, the most logical game plan would be simple safe footy followed by a long kick. playing for good field postion & relying on forward dominance & good kicking game to grind out a win. so to me porter would have been the logical choice to replace kelly as he has the best long kicking game.
stapelton went ok 2 0r 3 years ago at fullback & would be a safe option.
however i have not watched much nsw cup or toyota cup games this year so i happy to except flanno judgement. but i guess smith is on last chance to perform if he wants to stay in the nrl. or it is of to super league so he may just surprise us a few of us & have great game. lets hopes so, it would be great when kelly came back from injury for their to be competition for starting spots in the halves.

I reckon we play Gordon at fullback. He is extremely fast like Gardner so could play a similar role in attack. We will miss Gardner's returns as Gordon doesn't have the same ability to bump off tackles. But I believe it would be a relatively smooth transition of game plan.

I also think we should have used Porter not Smith. I think we should have used Porter's long kicking game to our advantage IMO. While Graham has been improving in this area I still don't think he is quite goo enough. We have a monster pack and between Porter and Graham we would have had a very good long kicking game to complement our forward pack.

For Souths I would have gone with Porter and either Tongia or Stapleton.

Porter -> Because he has a great kicking game and Smith is going to get trampled on by big Souths forwards. It's going to be ugly.
Tongia or Stapleton -> Because I'm worried Gordon will get trampled on by Souths backs if they make a line break.

porter and stapleton, stapleton has been scoring atleast 1 try a game and is kicking goals from all over the park and scott porter is just solid nothing flashy but does all the little things right. BIG BIG mistake bringing tim smith up what a joke!

Didn't people say the same about Gards?

They sure did.

We have tried Smith and SFP heaps of times, they arent first graders.

Townsend has a good kicking game, which we would be main objective, the rest of the stuff he could leave for Graham
