The Sharks would be doing themselves a favour by at least considering Hannay for this squad.

i really like these backs

all 5 could get a shot in firsts and wouldnt dissapoint anyone, especially Nielsen

expect Henry to get a shot at fullback at the end of this year if a couple of injuries hit, he is well regarded by the coaching staff, very very good footwork, in the kearney mould, was touted as the next Benji Marshall when he first came over from NZ. But didnt live upto expectation last year for many reasons, the main one being moved between many positions, but has now cemented his spot at the back of the Premier league side

Goodwin is a talent and had problems at st george but has come back to cronulla and cemented a spot in the prems side and would do very well in firsts

Robinson is a very good finisher who is some great form, everyone at the start of the year including me thought his brother would be pushing for firsts but he has been dissapointing, reece has been reported to be a standout in most of his games this year

Jordo I am also looking forward to seeing Brackin Henry get a shot in first grade, he sounds like an exciting prospect. I found this profile on the old Sharks website:

http://www.sharks.com.au/index.php?id=97

Other than that I don't know too much about him, except he grew up in Christchurch and played in Canterbury age group teams alongside players including Setaimata Sa, now with the Roosters, and Quincy To'o To'o who plays in our Flegg side. Here's an old article from the Canterbury Rugby League website about their under 18s side which mentions all three players:

Comment: Canterburys League Future Looks Bright
Written By: Jack Muir

News of the Canterbury 18's victory spread around New Zealand after last weekend and was sure to put a smile on many a Rugby League lovers face.

Already the side is being compared to the Canterbury youth sides of the mid to late 80's which consistently pulled off fine results against Wellington and Auckland youth sides.

These sides included now household names such as Logan Edwards, Mark Nixon and Dean Mayell and it is no surprise that many in the Canterbury region are looking at the youngsters in this Canterbury side to pave their way to Rugby League fame and fortune.

The win against a strong Auckland Sea Lions side by 28-20 gives Canterbury League fans a sense that finally good things will come to the game in the region in the near future, after years of depressing financial hardship and playing performances.

The team will undoubtebly realise one win does not make a season and coach and former Warrior Terry Hermansson will certainly instill this belief in his young chargers.

Notable players include brilliant Papanui centre Setaimata Sa, who has already been linked with the Sydney Roosters in the Australian competition.

Fullback Brackin Karuia-Henry looks to have the balance and aggression similar to a young Matthew Ridge, he also shows outstanding leadership qualities that the Canterbury team must harness if to progress further in this competition.

Quincy To'o To'o - Uligia is a consistent goal kicker and has many options with the ball in hands.

His combination with the Riccarton Knight pair of workman like Ivan Toso and the naturally gifted athleticism of Wesley Naoupu should be very exciting to watch.

The team also has Chris Nicholson, son of Canterbury Rugby League "Super Coach" Brent Ringdahl, who had a couple of premier match experience in last years champion Riccarton side. This experience will be a major asset to the exciting outfit.

Canterbury supporters will wait with baited breath for the secound round of the Kiwi cup and in particular the Canterbury match against Waicoa Bay to see whether the Rugby League future of the province is indeed in for the future we all hoped for after hearing the news of last weeks boil over against the Sea Lions. Who knows ? Maybe the next breed of Dean Mayells and Logan Edwards are just around the corner.
