Gallen = Smarter than he looks!

Great too hear, wouldn't it be great if he actually spends the rest of his career at the Sharkies? A real lifer in this day and age is something special.

yeah, he seems really keen with ricky and the other boys coming here. to me i'll trake it as a genuine want to stay here, due to the fact that he is my favourite player.

Yeah it's great that he wants to play out his career in the blue black and white, hopefully that attitude will rub off on the other guys and there will be a great team spirit in this joint next season...especially once we get a few wins under our belt. I agree with Sharks195, Gallen should be captain for next year, might take some of the pressure off Noddy's shoulders. Anyone know when Ricky plans to make an announcement on the captaincy for 2007?

There isn't any way that he will take it off Kimmorley, would look bad publicly

agreed woody.we would then start hearing "ricky stuart still not happy with kimmorley, strips him of captaincy."we do not need that to happen.i do think two to three years down the track, gallen may be the man for the job.perhaps we should have a captaincy group at the club.seemed to work wonders at melbourne, and with the sydney swans in the afl.give some of the experienced guys some more responsibility.thommo ,gallen, noddy, dykes, and ross would make a good group of captains.

I said it back then and I will say it again, I reckon the whole Gallen thing was just media sideshow so that the Sharks would punt Raper. It worked.

Personally I think it is fantastic that Gallen wants to sign on. And yes it does definately say something to his teammates and the club. Lets hope it all happens.

yeah but at least he is showing the signs of staying with us. it is a big improvement compared to the "i want out" statement.

Aaand I just learnt that Reece Williams' contract is up next year as well. They'd better resign him also.

Yes, also apparently Simmos, Noddy and Dykesy are all off contract at the end of next season. Obviously it depends on how things go next year who the priority re-signings will be, but based on performances this year you would have to say it would be Gallen, Simmons, and Williams. Dykes and Kimmorley have a lot to prove in 2007.

yeah i agree mega, simmons, gallen and williams are pretty secure if they don't want to leave. the problem is having kimmorley and dykes not working together and one of them will leave if this is the case again

don't think simmons is safe yet mate

in a poll last year were ricky stuart rated fullbacks Dave simmons was last

Ricky likes a fullback to run the ball back hard. Simmons doesn't, he may be able to get him running it back hard as Hunt was in tri nations

anyway lets hope he can turn him in to something
