A few more fights and he'll have made more money from boxing than he did league, throw in his media career and he's not struggling that's for sure.

Plus being a noted tightarse can't hurt

Browne came out in a flashy hood. Gal came out in a white T covered with 8-9 sponsors' logos.

Dude knows what he's about.

Serious question for those in AFL states, do people have much interest in his fights?

I don't see much from most of my friends, I see heaps from various league circles obviously.
Don't watch the news but I'd assume it would probably get a brief mention due to the combined profiles of the two.

How long until he starts getting sponsors tattooed on his back like the guy in the fight 1 or 2 before his?
(seriously were those tattoos, I kept waiting for them to smear during the fight but they didn't)

It's ridiculous how much he's getting paid but good luck to him, why wouldn't you keep doing it if people are going to keep paying you silly money.

Especially when he's only in the ring for a couple of minutes!

The latest guy sounds like an actual fight... surely not?!

Latest fight should be by far Gals biggest test, and with less prep time than he'd probably like, although should still be in decent form as he just fought.
Justis not much shorter than Browne either so he's already been sparring the right body shape probably.

Seen suggestion he could be looking at around 900k for this fight so it's pretty much win-win for him given he is in it for the money.

As long as Gal is equal or better for fitness, he should be equal or better for toughness so it will be up to Justis to out box him. I haven't seen Justis fight but I'd assume that's pretty possible.
He hasn't fought as a professional outside of Qld so not surprised Gal is demanding the home town advantage.

Not like Huni has been beating big international names or anything though.

If Gal loses he's in it for the money and won't care that people say 'see we told you footballers can't box', although he will be pretty disappointed in himself if he can't at least make a good fight of it.
If he can make a good fight he can probably get at least one more fight for good money (although much less than 900k I'd think).

If he wins... he's suddenly the number 1 ranked heavy weight in Australia and that is pretty good leverage to get an even bigger paying fight, although no idea what that would be.

I'd like to see him fight Aussie Joe Bugner.

Yeah, I read that the purse would be bigger than he's made in any season of his NRL career, so it'll be a handy amount all right.

From the little I've seen of Gal's fights, he looked like he was moving pretty well. Had the Tyson style going in that last one - ducking in close and trying to get short, sharp shots in! You'd think fitness should be okay, toughness... it's Gal... technique? He's been doing this for a while now, but with the guys he's faced it's pretty hard to say.

And he could be ranked no.1? Wow... that's a pretty sad endictment on the state of boxing... best of luck to him, at any rate
