This game marked the end of the Sharks form slump of 2002. We didn't win, but a strong game by Franze, including a memorable individual try, and good work by Preston Campbell at five-eighth (replacing the injured Mat Johns) gave the Sharks plenty of confidence. The next week we came out and flogged the Dragons 34-13 at home, starting a record-equalling winning streak (11 games). Cronulla didn't lose until Easts had the rules changed for them before the final game of the regular season.
