Hi guys just on the issue or feeling amoungst a few of us here that the Sharks need or require a quality outside back and a cheap 1 at that.
I would like to throw the name of Rene Ranger out there, 23 years old, he plays for the Northland province in the national championship has played in the Blues super 14 team the NZ 7's team and the NZ A side he is absoultly killing it on the field and I would say he is the most devastating runner and offloader in the AIR NEW ZEALAND CUP if you get a chance to check him out do so he would be a outstanding signing and not overly priced at present,

Why can't our development squad find us blokes like this...

Look at the guy who was at Melbourne, Discovered Inlgis & Folau. Im impressed by Fergo & Stapo this year, but we must be the only club in the past 5 years that hasn't unearthed a genuine superstar.

Do you know if he has a background in rugby league? I read somewhere that the Roosters have signed a young South African centre for next season and you would think that there must also be a few talented outside backs in NZ rugby capable of making the transition.

Im not sure if he has played League before Mega but chances are he has! The guy has all the tools to make it big in league big solid centre wing or fullback with 7's rugby fitness levels that are through the roof, can't be tackled 1 on 1 either beats the man or stands in the tackle and offloads has great pace can run around or over defenders and is solid in defence, the more I think about it the more I would love to see him in a SHARKS jersey

I haven't seen him play but sounds like he would be far better suited to league than union, would probably enjoy it far more as well! ;)

we have already tried the 'buy as many kiwi kids as possible' and that turned out well

develop the local kids

I am a strong believer in nurturing local talent but sometimes it is also necessary to look further afield, on a selective basis - judging by the amount of Parra juniors we have signed for next season, this is obviously something that Ricky also recognises the importance of. In fact now that Simmo and Brown have moved on, I think that Reece Williams and Scott Porter are the only local products left in our first grade squad.

I'm all for develop the local kids Peach, nobody is aganist that idea, but we have to be open to talent and I feel this kid has it right now.
To be honest the Kiwi's of late have not been the best but I would not have recruited them!!!! and Nikau and Barnett were great for the SHARKS

It was a great run!!! Would love to see it in the Sharks jersey..... We will close our eyes though in that tape and overlook the sloppy drop ball from the inside pass early on!!! :trent:

Bring the goal kicker as well! Gunna need one when covell goes and that fella look pretty good and the 13 that put that hit on could definitely fit in well in the black white and blue!

13 is Anthony Tuitavake and is already an All Black would probably cost big $$$ to get him over to league but he is good

buy buy buy buy buy...simmos, browns, hughes, ross, kearny all them ppl we sacked/left surely we can dish out a fair amount...he is defintitely some1 we could do with in our backline!!!!...Btw does anyone else think that we should give corey hughes a new contract until we win a game so he goes out on a high..it would suck having your whole career finish up with a last 10 second heart wrenching loss to the rabbitohs!!
