All it would take is a top 8 and it’s his, if Flanno doesn’t come back. I think the club would be licking their lips at the difference In Pay cheque’s

Not sure making the 8 is that much of an achievement with our squad as long as we're not hit by injuries.

Coming in 8th with this squad would be ground for failure IMO. Depending on some mitigating factors like crazy injuries or scandals.

What if 8th was only one win less than 1st?
(Obviously I'd rather we finish higher than 8th still)

That would likely mean we have a **** F/A.

I'd expect us to play more attacking footy with SJ and Moyza in the team.

Would still be a mediocre season imo.

NRL would be getting nervous, an angry Flanno could go in and rip the place apart. A tell-all book from someone about the inner workings of the comp, shady dealings within other clubs, NRL double standards etc would be interesting indeed. He'd have some dirt no doubt.

My guess is they'll give him hope for the future in order to avoid such things.

Give me some of what you've been smokin. NRL wouldnt be nervous in the slightest. They have Flanno on toast.

We're in a better place than 2014, less pressure on players, coach that actually wants to be there.

And we were only 2 seasons off winning a premiership.

If we use this season to blood young players and get combos right, it can't be a write off. The JMo will have had one year first grade coaching experience

I don’t see the point in trying to have this year as a dud year. We have a premiership winning squad with a coach who knows our systems and isn’t a complete nufty.

anything less than second week of finals will be a failure tbh

I'm confident JMo and the squad are not seeing 2019 as a "we'll be happy to make the 8" season.

The position JoMo finishes this year is only half the 2020 coach puzzle (assuming he stays on until the end of the year).
A modern coach runs so much... player retention, etc.

We do have a good squad, with a lot of leaders. I don’t think Mal Meninga had a lot to do with the maroons success, besides providing stability. If Morris can provide that, the guys will look after themselves pretty much and keep doing what they’ve been doing

Yeah you're right about Mal, he had a lot of help with tactics etc.

Don't know why but I have a lot of faith in JMo.

Congratulations to him, he has done well with the lower grades and as others have said we have a good squad, as for Flanno yeah let's just watch how inconsistent they are with his punishment.

I don't understand where you're coming from here - they definitely have Flanno on toast, but that doesn't mean he can't spill the beans on **** that goes down in the NRL that he's experienced.

****, I hope that’s the last thing that happens. He’d be snitching on himself and everyone is the game. It would be such a bad look for the club too... that’s if he has any knowledge at all. Pure speculation

I don't really understand what beans he'd have to spill regarding the NRL.

Yeah cause Mal had Michael Hagan he was the brains behind the Maroons team.
