ONE HD is thrilled to announce that NSW State of Origin Coach, Ricky Stuart will join ONE HD’s new NRL panel show- One Week At A Time.
Stuart was NSW Origin Coach when the Blues last won the title in 2005. He has also successfully coached the Australia Kangaroos and in 2002 delivered the Sydney Roosters their first premiership victory in 28 years.
Hosted by Adam Hawse, One Week At A Time will premiere on ONE HD on Monday, March 14 at 9.30pm in Sydney and Brisbane (10.30pm in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth) and will build on ONE’s ever-expanding slate of quality programming.
One Week At A Time will offer League fans the opportunity to hear directly from key people involved in the game including coaches, administrators and players, all of which will be complemented by a full wrap-up of the weekend’s games.
General Manager of Sport, David White said everyone is really looking forward to working with Ricky and will welcome him warmly to the ONE HD team.
“It is a real coup for us to have secured someone of Ricky’s calibre and reputation. He is undoubtedly one of NRL’s finest and cements our commitment to delivering contemporary, informative and credible programs to sport fans,” White said.
“Ricky is without doubt one of the most respected players and coaches in the NRL. His experience, passion and knowledge of the game will prove invaluable as he provides NRL fans with his unique insight into all that is happening in the game,” added David Barham, Head of Sport Production.
Stuart said he is looking forward to balancing his coaching duties with the exciting television opportunity.
“The program will provide valuable exposure for our game nationally at a time when there is so much competition among the major football codes,” Stuart said.
”I’m honoured to have signed with ONE HD and to be fronting One Week At A Time. I’ve had an involvement in the media for more than a decade writing columns for The Sunday Telegraph.
I've done thousands of interviews during my career so it’ll be exciting to be on the other side of the fence asking the questions. I hope I can bring an informed approach to this role and shed some light on the mechanics of a football team and break it down for the viewers and the fans," he said.
"The 2011 competition is shaping up to be extremely competitive and, I'm also looking forward to my State of Origin challenges."
