Hey guys, I was looking through an old cupboard of mine when i came across this jumper, which I thought I had lost some time ago. Picked it up for $2 at the Op shop some years back. Just wondering if anyone could possible tell me the approximate year, or whether its just a supporters shirt.

I had these jumpers as a kid in the late 70's. I remember because they were made by peerless. What number is on the back. Could be a 78 special.

The hoop all the way around was the late 70's I think. Although they (peerless) keeped it throught to early 80's (the supporters one that is).

Seen a replay of the 1978 Grand Final recently and am pretty sure the Sharks jerseys didn't have the nswrl logo on the left.

From what I have the RFL logo appeared on the footy cards in 1980.

And it looks like the RL logo appeared on the jerseys somewhere between 82 and 86 and continued from there.

I've got a collection of team photos over the years so was just flicking through trying to identify which year until I got to the 89 team photo. Capsis is in it as team chaplin. What a turncoat. My stomach churned. He was happy to bask in the fame and glory then of "being" a sharkie

btw, the NRL shield only started in '85 and 86 when we had Ronson as sponsors in the white band. In 87-89 we had same jersey front with NRL shield with Aussie Duct as sponsors and in 90> we had Brewers

oops. The NRL badge started in '83 when Cleanaway were our sponsors
