umm there is just one thing that would stop us signing any more big names and thats something called salary cap. I doubt we have any more room for any big names, unless we release Ross or something.

and i think Noddy is of contract at the end of the year as well.

There is also a thing called backloading, to help with celery cap issues. Basically, you pay a player $50k this year, $100k next year, and $200k the year after that. As other players end their contracts and leave, or retire in that three year time frame, more cash if freed up for the back loading.

It's apparently how the Rorters get by. Along with a few brown paper bags and a back rub from Wendell Sailor.

When does Inglis come off contract? I'd use Ross's money on him for sure! He can play fullback, centre, 5/8 & wing. He's a freak of a player!

Can we straight trade a player say Ross for Inglis, is that possible

If both parties agree, then it would go to the NRL, then if they accept the conditions then it would go through.

it's a cap you can eat! It's even shaped with a bowl at the top to put some dip in, preferably french onion, because no one really likes celery without dip.

haha, Ross for Inglis. As if Melbourne would fall for that.

I know, but still. Reminds me of trading footy cards back in the 80's. "I'll swap you three <insert average players cards> for one Andrew Ettingshausen!"

Haha it probably our only chance, do you think it is true what they put in the telegraph about another major signing in next two weeks??????????

I hear that Timana Tahu is not enjoying Rugby it was on a Nz show called Deaker on sport, may ask for a release to come back to league if that info is right....... any word over there on how he is going?

Read an interview with him in the SMH within the last couple of days which poured cold water on this rumour; he said he will never return to rugby league, although he still loves our game. He seems to think he has achieved everything in rugby league, and whether he is enjoying his new code or not, he is earning far too much money where he is at the moment to even contemplate a return. Same goes for Lote Tuqiri.

Exactly why Ricky didn't want Lote, that was his laxed attitude when he was considering it, and I agree, you only want people who want too be there.
