The match report from the Sharks site, not much of a report though unfortunately.

TOYOTA SHARKS BEATEN BY THE TITANS
01.06.08 12:17

The Toyota Cup under-20 Sharks failed to capitalise on a fast start in going down by 24-18 to the Gold Coast Titans.

The Sharks jumped out to an early 10-0 lead but a series of errors saw their rivals work their way back into the contest to lead 12-10 at half time.

After falling behind 24-14 the Sharks crossed out wide to bring the margin back to just a converted try, however time ran out on their fightback and the Titans would run out victors.

The teams finished the match with four tries each, with goal kicking ultimately proving to be the difference.

For the Toyota Cup Sharks, prop forwards Tohi Leha and John Viiga were both rewarded for energetic performances by touching down for tries, while five eighth Shane Pumipi and young winger Stewart Mills were the other try scores for the Sharks.

The Toyota Cup Sharks, having lost their last three matches, will look to rebound next week when they play the Panthers at CUA Stadium next Sunday afternoon.

I was at the game today and caught the Under 20s game. I think the scoreline of 24-18 flattered us, we were not very good at all. Everyone has been saying what a good player Stapleton is - not today people, I wasn't impressed by him at all. The number 7 Hogan tried hard & the number 8 - not sure of his name - big polynesion prop, is it Leha? went really well. Apart from that not many stood out.

Big Karl Filiga? I really wanted this kid to do well this year and play NRL at some stage and become one of our game breakers. When he takes the ball up he does generally have 3 or 4 blokes on him and they rarely put him down but he only motors up to the line at half or worse speed. He doesn't go looking for the ball, hits hard in defence when he has to but does have the odd embarrassing miss. He's a long way off playing NRL I reckon. He does need a good kick up the backside and have a bit more ticker. Not sure what is wrong with him.
