Sharks NSW Cup Thump Western Suburb Magpies

Sharks NSW Cup Thump Western Suburb Magpies
14/05/2011 3:50:33 PM

The Hisense Cronulla Sharks NSW Cup side continued their impressive form with a 56-10 thumping of the Western Suburbs Magpies at Henson Park on Saturday afternoon.

The victory see's Tony Herman's men consolidate their spot in the top four after 10 rounds as a number of players continue to put their hands up for first grade selection.

Ryan Tongia and Nathan Stapleton both scored three tries each, with Johnny Mannah also crossing for two and Dean Collis one. The Storm's Robbie Rochow also scored one try, whilst Stapleton kicked 8 from 10.

"Yeah we played pretty well today, we were really strong up the middle and showed also showed some flair in attack," Stapleton said.

"Wests were okay, they played well in patches but I think we really dominated them."

"The start of the second half was pretty slow but once we got through it together we pushed hard and really came away with it... it was a god game."

The Sharks next match is against the Manly Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval on Friday night, May 20, at 6pm.

that is why tongia should be at fullback fulltime there imo is a much better option than ike but there were question marks over his defense in the first game wasn't there, hope he has had time to fix it up? stapo and absolute gun. So happy that timmy smith isn't playing and hope to see vave on the bench having a blinder. Brod must of played?

I am tipping we will have 6. Graham 7. Morris 9. Aiton tomorrow.

was thinking the same thing - that being said I'd prefer Morris at 9 where he has been going great guns. fingers crossed Porter didn't play today as he is picked for tomorrow (i can't find out if he played or not)
