Pom in the second-row...hmmm interesting

I personally don't find it all that interesting IMO he is a backrower. The NSW Cup side has also got to account for the fact they will only have certain players for the finals. Putting Pomeroy in the backrow makes less impact (to team combinations) than in the centres IMO.

A precursor for next season perhaps? There's been a lot of calls for him to move there & now, I'm sure, this is the first time he's actually been name in that position in the starting side. Keen to find out how he handles it.

I don't think we will be seeing him there in the future sadly. I really do think it is were he is best suited but with have an abundance of backrowers and a shortage of quality centres. I think we will be seeing Pomeroy in the centres for a while longer.

Do we really have an abundance of backrowers? I count six, and of those Bukuya and Smith are injury prone and Gal plays a lot of rep footy. Considering we could have 4-5 in the side at anytime (1 or 2 on the bench) I don't see how 7 is too many if we add Pom to the list.

I'll put it this way my pecking order for backrowers with Pomeroy in the backrow:

Gallen
Smith
Bukuya
Tupou
Frizzell
Taga
Graham
Taufua
Pomeroy
Peachey (I rate Peachey but he would more likely come into my team as a utility than as a backrower, although this would include playing backrow.)
B.Wright (If he stays)

Poms just doesn't have the work rate to be a starting 2nd rower !! He would provide an impact off the bench but that would be the only option for him outside of centre...

It's funny he just gets resigned then dropped...

I reckon he will be fine in the backrow for NSW Cup. I expect him to be a go to man in attack. Not so much for the hard yards although I reckon he will get through plenty of work to try and prove himself worthy of NRL. Pomeroy has a tendancy of going very well when dropped.

Keen to know who is playing. Will give us a good idea of what is happening with the injuries in Firsts.
