Still can’t work out this SUPERCOACH scoring.

I have Shaun Lane playing in a well beaten team scoring 65 and Kyle Flanagan in a spine position in a team winning well only scores 19. Can anyone explain this to me? Surely KF wasn’t that bad, he seemed to play pretty well.

Have you googled how scores are allocated?

Yeah I have looked at it many times mate, it’s all pretty confusing really. I can’t remember everything and I really CBF looking it up every time.

I watched both games. Apart from scoring a try I didn’t see Lane do anything exceptional and KF seemed to involved a fair bit with touches, runs and tackles.

1 point per tackle, one point per hit up under 8m.

Nrl stats are different, but they have flanno at 15 tackles 2 missed, so 13 points. 7 runs for 35m, so likely most below 8m. That's less than 20 points.

Lane 33 tackles, 1 missed so 32 points. 8 runs for 73m, so likely most over 8m which are 2 points each. That's about 47 points before he gets:
- linebreak 10 points
- try 17 points
- 2 tackle busts 4 points.

Halves generally score poorly unless they are involved in key attacking plays, and most of the time it involves throwing the last/key pass/kick etc.

Again, nrl stats aren't the same as SC, but it just puts into perspective the performance they are scoring.

Also stats can be borderline on what is considered a “run”. Hooker taking 3-4 steps to engage the markers or a half digging in to the line prior to a pass often doesn’t get counted.

A pass-first half who is not his team’s primary kicker (Flanno) is unlikely to be a high SC scorer, even if he is playing a valuable role for his team. He might be a good option to carry over origin though, since Hunt will miss games and it’s possible Lomax does too. You might sneak in a few weeks against weakened opponents where KF is the main general play kicker AND taking conversions.

It’s quite simple I’d say (do X action get Y points) but def don’t expect you to remember it, I can’t remember half of it and I’ve been playing for years.

Touches aren’t worth anything seems to be first place you’re going wrong though. After that PSs breakdown pretty much sums it up.

If you do wanna dive a bit deeper in the breakdowns you can see how stats are allocated here https://nrlsupercoachlive.com/
I don’t really bother with this site but some people I know don’t even check the official app most of the weekend they go off this. Blue numbers are numbers people think are owed - for mixed results.

Supercoach rewards attack... Tries, try assists, line breaks, line breaks assists.

A half can do their job, but if they don't get the attacking stats they don't score well. Lane probably got 30 points from 1 play.

Lane - despite the try and associated line break looks lethargic and disinterested - like a number of his team mates .

Happy to have sold him a few weeks ago ..

Keeping all the good 'runs not runs' graphs to yourself, huh? 😉
