Galvin an option for you ?
He is (via Strang to CTW) but just unsure about his use with Sezer on the bench. Happy to watch and wait on him.
Talau you'd think just plays wing 80 minutes a week in a good attacking side for the 6-8 weeks until Saab is back. Might not be a homerun but a 'safer' select I'd think.

If Galvin going well in another couple of weeks he's easy to bring in (either by or for Strange).

Yeah I'm waiting on Galvin. At the very least I might get tuapiki going up once before I bring him in. If talau gets a try or two, or just a decent score, I'll bring him in in the same capacity.

The hope is anyone who is a potential out sooner rather than later (for me maybe Tuaupiki, Piakura, Tupouniua, Lane, Salmon, Bostock) is likely after this week to be a good chance of even a small gain if I can wait another week, so I am better positioned to pick and choose who I bring in.

Hoping at least two of Piakura, Tupounia and Lane get off of thin ice this week. Even one really locking in some confidence would help me.

Yeah its very tough with a one game sample. I've taken the risk on KPP. Downgraded from wong to get the cash in for May. Job security is tricky, but I'm not sure the minutes are there in the back row for Wong.

Yep, that first round was a total basketcase. No-go players scoring out of their skin, mids doing mid things rather than giving us hope that they'd break out and boost the bank account, keepers scoring like nuffs... hopefully round two returns us to some normality and those educated picks we made start paying off

I feel having no experience has actually been a positive for me because of this.
I can't overreact because I don't know what to react to!

Just for reference I scored 887, which is okay for the round.

My lowest score all of last season was 938.
Round 1 last season I scored 1059, and averaged 1178.

In particular Hynes, Cleary, Ponga, Brown, Papy, Mam, Moses, Drinkwater, Isaako were all at least 10% owned, expensive, and failed to top 50 points.

And Tino, Hopgood, Cotter, RTS and Tapine didn't do much better.

Then you've got all the mid range 2RFs, most of whom disappointed.

Just all culminated in wildly low scores.
Typically you'd expect half if not more of these guys to score 50% or more better.

Plenty would have had one of those blokes as their captain too.

I could have given the C to Turbo for a sweet 162, but nooooo... I had to go and get a mighty 72 from Cleary.

Mangled whole team to fit both gun halves in, and then get beaten by a team with Tuaupiki, Strange and Kini all outscoring Nicho. 🤦‍♂️

I picked Haas to be my set and forget 70pt player every round.. then ignored him as captain. Used to be you'd just about leave the captaincy on your best forward. I think we've gotten greedy after tasting 150pt games from some players and we're chasing those points... the one rule of SC is don't chase points!

Back in those days mid to high 800s was still an okay score early season haha

I saw a few very nice scores with Mitchell as captain. Unclear if that was a great risk paid off, or objectively very poor supercoach play rewarded.

Guy sitting number 1 now captained Trell and had some surprising pay offs like Metcalf (70), Hunt (79), DCE (62), Junior Paulo (61) plus AFB, Carty and Yeo. Wilton and AKP didn't perform as well but I also would have called those pretty questionable picks.

Time will tell if he is a genius or fluked it.

Honestly, I don't see many of those as big surprises. Metcalfe almost made my team but I didn't have the cahoonas to go through with it. Still might bring him in. Hunt probably over performed but not by a lot.

But what do I know... I started with the other Hunt!

Metcalf would be an investment in Warriors. He'd most likely score poorly in their loses. Def brave from a non-Warriors fan.

Surprising I mean more by the opportunity cost of who you could have had instead - to use same example Eels won 26-8 and Warriors lost 12-16 but Metcalf outscored Brown. That's probably not what most would have guessed there. Or Ben Hunt outscoring Nicho and Cleary combined.

DT are reporting that Milne will come in for Gagai.
I'm happy with that, always good when a cheapie you don't have hurts the owners haha

Tossing up if I wanna bite the bullet and straight captain Nicho so I don't have to loop to take his big score

Yep, fair enough. Guess it depends on where you had put your cash. I was thinking Metcalfe as a bit of a money saver half to try and get Grant and two gun FB's

Metcalf was a good pick - plenty of upside and ahead of Tricky IMO and plenty picked him .

Brooks not a bad option either but a bit more expensive ..

Catch the bloody ball Hetherington!

That was huge opportunity for me. I’ve got Carrigan, so missed out on the assists, and the LB and try would have pushed Hetherington in to money making territory as long as he got 30-ish next week.

You’re dead to me Kobe.

I've got Carrigan against you in draft so he saved you there. Shame Mariner decided he needed to score everything.

From last nights game I had Cobbo and Cam Murray in my side. Only an average 56 points from Murray but Cobbo came in with 85!

By the way, can someone tell me what BE stands for in each individual players record on the team sheet? For example Cobbo has BE: 81 on his.
