Yep. If you want to keep him and think he is one of your best 17 players you make new role for him. Long term he will be a better halfback because of it. A lot of the better halves going around played a utility role when they came in to the NRL (Cronk, Keary, Walker, Hunt, Norman, Munster, Morgan, Moses)

The biggest thing is that Snr was the one that hired the “road block”.

Hopefully it’s not a case of “too little too late” and Jnr hasn’t already committed to a move in his own mind.
If we can keep him in the side for the remainder of the season and show him a legitimate pathway, we might be able to retain him for the remainder of his current contract and show him he has a place in our 17 (and in time our 13).

There were about 30-40 people there mate and it didn’t rain at all.

My son had a great time, got his poster signed and had some photos taken with some of the players.

He had a ball.

After the players warmed up they played a mock game of ten minutes per quarter against the Jets with a couple of NRL referees officiating.

Interestingly the backline set up all night was Morris playing left wing and Xerri left centre. Dugan was right centre with Feki right wing. Moylan was at fullback of course but Flanno Jnr also played some time there. Flanju also played some dummy half as well.

They were pretty slick with ball movement and seemed pretty relaxed overall.

Spoke to Toby Rudolph who said he’ll be back in five weeks for the Jets.

Had a great time and looking forward to Sunday’s game.

Same setup this morning for captains run

Chad goal kicker.

Blayke Brailey and Scott Sorensen are both playing for the Jets.

Aaron Gray is not playing.

Woods apparently is starting in place of Willians. I like that swap. Williams and Uele’s impact have been massive for us this year. Williams starting at prop left a lot to be desired for me too

Well if the podcasters are to be believed, Flanno Snr is livid with the club, and it's going to be hard to make Jnr happy considering the influence his old man has on him.

Hope this is not the case because I really like what I've seen of Jnr in the top grade.

On a scale of 1-100 how excited are you for this game?

I’m about as excited as a wet dish cloth.

Really ...sharks game I’m always excited happy nervous.. wet dish cloth stuff is broncos v Titans or cows v warriors on a Friday night sort of game that offers me no interest... any day you beat the broncos is a good day... a win today will get my attention for Wednesday night and have me pinging come next sat night..
Weather looking crappy next sat night might have to get tickets undercover...

If I were coach Morris today, I’d be telling them to make sure we win that first 20 minutes.

Run hard, tackle strong, nothing silly, no fancy passes, just get field position.

Make the tackles count, no penalties and hold the ball.

I don’t care if it’s 0-0 after 20 mins as long as we’ve done the basics.

If we end up winning it won’t be until the last 20 mins when hopefully their youngsters start to tire.
